The ship was the perfect metaphor for the current moment, wasn’t it? A giant symbol of human limitations. The gods looked down upon us and said, “We need to remind them about patience,” and thus a Suez Canal star was born. An especially exciting element of the Suez Canal situation is the fact that the ship was partially helped by the fact that we just experienced a “supermoon.” You can’t write this stuff… Maybe that’s why I’m finding the novel I’m reading so boring. It will never be as interesting as the ship being liberated from the Suez Canal after a supermoon. I think it’s time that Hollywood makes a followup to Titanic called Suez Canal Container Ship Called “Ever Given.” Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio could be in it, but instead of going down with the ship, they are in charge of coordinating the tugboats and a tidal expert/astrologer, respectively. Celine Dion can sing a song called “Heavy Cargo.” I smell an Oscar! But that’s not why you’re here; you’re here for the stories. First, there’s an article about “The Millennial Somm,” a TikToker who is killing it on #WineTok (writing that made me feel so old)...then, there’s an article about the cherry blossoming that’s happening right now...then an article about the wildfires that have been ravaging a region of Patagonia this month… a recipe for a Cappelletti Spritz… and finally, an “opulent glassware sale”... Oo la la! I have to go and start writing my screenplay for Suez Canal Container Ship Called “Ever Given.” Please don’t steal my idea—I’m looking at you, Kathryn Bigelow! I’m going to keep some elements from Titanic for this movie; there’s gonna be a nude drawing scene, a scene where they do Irish dancing in steerage, and Kathy Bates is going to be in it, only in my movie she plays a lieutenant in the military. Bye! -[Ned Riseley, Newsletter Contributor]( [ [( drinks [] [If You’re on #Winetok, You’re Going to Wanna Check Out The Millennial Somm]( Isis Daniel is famous on TikTok as a sommelier. Yes, there is such a thing as #WineTok, because of course there is. The Millennial Somm, as Daniel is known on the platform, playfully and approachably talks about the ins and outs of wine, often with a humorous twist. Read this article to learn more about Daniel, her story, and her mission to diversify the wine world. [] [TikTok, it’s wine o’clock]( [( [( travel [] [Cherry Blossom Time Is Upon Us]( Cherry blossom season has become its own season on the calendar for many people randy for the pink blooms of spring. Like a millennial pink answer to snowfall, cherry blossom season signifies that we are out of the winter doldrums and onto the next. From Boston to Philly to Georgia to California, there are so many places to take in the wonders of cherry blossoms! I am having an allergic reaction just thinking about it, but I will be sure to pop a Claritin and check it out! [] [In bloom]( [( [( travel [] [This Beautiful Region of Patagonia Was Devastated By Wildfires This Month]( In this article, Thrillist contributor Cathy Brown discusses her personal journey as an expat in Argentine Patagonia. She also gives the lowdown on the wildfires that have destroyed large chunks of Patagonian forests. This is a devastating natural occurrence that hasn’t received very much attention on the news, and Brown is committed to spreading the word and letting you know where you can send donations to help with this disaster. [] [Learn more]( [( [( what's in my bar [] [Did Somebody Order a Cappelletti Spritz?]( Well, whether you did or not, I have a recipe for you. A Cappelletti Spritz is a refreshing twist on that old chestnut, the Aperol Spritz. Cappelletti is a wine-based aperitif that goes down even smoother than Aperol. You’re gonna be slurring made-up Italian sweet nothings into the ear of whoever will listen in no time. And if you wanna get REALLY wild, try adding some lemon wheels, you old rascal! [] [Drink up, my bambino]( [( *Sponsored Ads List *720x300 Ad Banner [( shopping [] [What Could Be More Elegant Than a Lismore Diamond Lead Crystal Decanter?]( The correct answer is NOTHING, and there are so many other elegant options on this list of artful, opulent glassware, now on sale. Whether you’re looking for a decanter, some champagne flutes, a vase (for the purposes of this article, please say “vahhhz”), a pitcher, or an ice scoop...you’ll be sure to find something that will have you feeling like you live inside an Agatha Christie novel (fingers crossed you’re not the murder victim…) Tally ho!
