It is 100% successful, and it’s not so much a physical vaccine as it is just locking yourself in your room praying that you don’t get sick. Meanwhile, Pfizer and Moderna get all the attention. Just my luck. Why does no one ever want to take my advice to “live in fear”?! It’s an incredibly effective and horrible way to live. Anyway, I won’t bore you with the details of my vaccine, but if you want to hear more, feel free to email me. Today’s Thrillist wants to tell you about some incredible naturally occurring spectacles… the alignment of Saturn, Jupiter, and the moon, as well as a rainbow geyser in Nevada. I just read an article about [a rapper in Brooklyn who rode on the roof of an MTA bus setting off a flame thrower]( (which, it turns out, is a perfectly legal item to own), so I’m pretty good on awe-inspiring spectacles for the moment… but I welcome you to check out these astronomical and geological wonders. Also, there’s an article about the best cooking channels on Youtube, an article about how to make Xi’an Famous Foods' bread, and a list of gifts for less than $25 to get for friends. I am off to continue administering myself my own vaccine. As that song from the early aughts says, “I hope you dance.” Till Tuesday, [-Ned Riseley, Newsletter Contributor]( [ [( news [] [Saturn, Jupiter & the Moon Form a Triangle in the Sky Tonight]( Two of our most gorgeous plus-sized planets are teaming up with the Earth’s moody glowing mistress for the soap opera of the century. Tonight, you’ll be able to see Saturn, Jupiter, and the moon in a beautiful triangle in the sky. They are the only properly functioning polycule in the galaxy (apologies to anyone in a polycule), and they are looking to show off tonight. Check out this article to see when it will be best to catch this beautiful show in the sky. [] [Starry Night]( [( [( travel [] [This Man-Made Rainbow Hole in Nevada Is Owned by Burning Man]( There’s a giant rainbow geyser in Nevada, and Burning Man bought it in 2016. The Burning Man part is not really what this story is about, but it’s what stood out to me. The story’s really about Fly Geyser itself, which looks like something out of The Land Before Time, or like a giant rapidly deflating Gusher snack. It’s pretty unreal, and I’d like to go visit ASAP… my only worry is, do I have to go to Burning Man if I want to see it? I’m really not the type. [] [Big Rock Candy Mountain]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( entertainment [] [Let YouTube Teach You How to Cook]( This year is so crazy, even I am learning how to cook. While my cooking repertoire up until now has pretty exclusively consisted of breakfast for dinner, I am finally ready to begin cultivating some skills in the kitchen. And luckily, Thrillist has some great places to start on YouTube. There’s “Babish Culinary Universe,” which exclusively recreates meals from TV shows and movies, The New York Times, and so much more. I’m off to watch a video about how to make Popeye’s chicken sandwich at home. [] [Cooking Class Is Not Cancelled]( [( [( food & drink [] [A New Bread for You to Make]( It must be getting colder, because Thrillist is really pushing the breadmaking again. This time it’s about how to make the famous “daily bread” from Xi’an Famous Foods, a New York institution. Why feel anxious about the holidays or this goddamn pandemic, when you can just turn up your headphones and spend your afternoon making loaves and loaves of bread? It can become a devotional, almost religious practice. You are the baker you’ve been waiting for. [] [Carb Time]( [( *720x300 Ad Banner [( shopping [] [Nothing Is as Meaningful as the Gift of Love]( But if you’re running low on that, there is a list of affordable gifts you can get for someone for under $25. You could get someone some very cute “milk cups” (???), a film camera (oooo), a multi-tool, a puzzle… and anti-bacterial socks… ??? I’m going to have to read more in order to fully understand the technology behind this one… like the socks are COVID-resistant?
