The truth is, while I do my best to make these newsletters sound like they’re just flowing forth in real time, I have to write them in advance, so the task of writing something for the day after Election Day, from the point in time where I am at right this moment (MONDAY!)... well, it brings up a lot of questions. I don’t know what you’re feeling right now. In fact, I don’t know what I’m feeling on Wednesday. Maybe I’m hungover. Maybe I’m going for a jog through the park like a well-adjusted person. Maybe I’m applying for jobs in Norway. You have a lot to teach me about the future, dear reader. Where I am, it’s only Monday… simple, naive, expectant Monday. Who knows how many gray hairs I’ve grown by Wednesday... What I do know is that Thrillist has some articles that we think you might be interested in. The first one seems very relevant, as it’s about all the best teas for calming anxiety. Then there’s one about living abroad… one about where to drink in your city… one about the beer flavors that aren’t pumpkin, but will keep you in the autumnal spirit. Then, finally, there’s the best soup makers in the country who will SHIP ANYWHERE. Get your soup. Again, I hope you’re well. I have no idea what the future holds and I wish I had a crystal ball, but I just have an old Magic 8-Ball and all the text has worn off of the fortune teller thing, so I don’t think that’s gonna work. Maybe I could do Tarot or I Ching? I’m gonna pull a virtual Tarot card right now and see if it has any insight about what life will be like on Wednesday. One sec… okay… I pulled the Knight of Wands! I don’t know what that means! It says it’s a young man with passion and vision who is impulsive and unrealistic… Wait, is that about me? Shit, I hate Tarot. Gotta go. Warm regards, [-Ned Riseley, Newsletter Contributor]( [ [( food & drink [] [Calm Your Anxiety With These Herbal Teas]( This is a list of all the best herbal teas for relaxation. Unless you’re very medicated, I imagine it’s been a grueling few days and you could use some anti-anxiety solutions. Well, this list will help you exhale and find some semblance of serenity right now. Plus it explains how all these teas help you relax. Your nervous system needs a break! Especially this time of year? This weather? Forget it! [] [Tea Time!]( [( [( travel [] [Let’s Move to Georgia (The Country)]( Here’s a list of all of the places that are most amenable to American ex-pats. Places like Vietnam, Uruguay, Thailand, Canada, Germany, South Korea, New Zealand… Are you looking to get away? Should we be? Again, it’s only Monday here, so I have no idea what’s going on in the world! This list really made me start thinking about leaving. I know yesterday I said I wanted to move to Montreal, and I still do… but now that I’ve read a little more about New Zealand, I think maybe that’s actually the vibe. Maybe split my time between the two. [] [Get Me Out of Here!]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( food & drink [] [You Look Like You Could Use a Martini]( These are all the places to get a drink, by city, right now. I will be going to each one on the New York list and getting three beers at each, ending the night with a martini. I just need to book a helicopter to fly me home at the end of the night, so if you have any leads, please let me know. There are still a lot of bar options! You can sit outside! You’ll be all the heartier for having done it! City life has changed! It’s like we’ve all become characters in a Hemingway novel, sitting at cafe tables on the Champs-Élysées and ruining each other’s lives! [] [Make Mine a Double]( [( [( food & drink [] [Why Pumpkin Isn’t the Only Fall Food For Delicious Beer]( I’m going to be honest—I don’t like pumpkin-flavored beer. In my experience, it never tastes like pumpkin, it just tastes like “the idea of sweet and sour dirt,” but maybe I have just never had a good pumpkin beer! That’s very possible; I have terrible taste. With that in mind, however, I’m happy to let you know that there are a lot of alternatives to pumpkin flavor that still have that earthy autumnal vibe. I will be sure to try a Carrot Bucket, or a Beet Weiss, or a Sweet Potato & Sage Ale. Those sound amazing… [] [Beet Beer, Please!]( [( *720x300 Ad Banner [( shopping [] [A Curated List of Some of the Best Soups That Will Ship to Your Door]( These are some of the best soups in the country, according to Thrillist. And the good news is, these companies will ship the soups anywhere. So, if you’re in Oklahoma and you see the lobster stew of your dreams, don’t worry! Or if you’re in North Dakota, but you’re craving some matzo ball soup from the East Village institution Veselka, that isn’t even an issue!!! Get that soup!
