Last night I watched Hereditary because I wanted to feel something, but as soon as it was happening, I didn’t want to be feeling any of the things that it was making me feel. Afterwards, I watched three episodes of Emily In Paris, which I thought might pickle my brain and prevent nightmares. Many have called Emily in Paris—which is about a girl named Emily going to Paris—“unwatchable,” but the protagonist’s blithe, charmless pluck actually had the power to wipe my mind clean from the horror of watching Toni Colette stab herself in the neck (spoiler alert). I think they should start prescribing three episodes of Emily in Paris for people suffering from PTSD. Get on the couch and feel your mind turn into a screensaver as you watch a young girl in a plaid bucket hat (with a buckle) try and navigate the world of French marketing. It’s the narrative equivalent of a weighted blanket. Okay, enough about me. Let’s get down to business. Today’s Thrillist has A) an article about a dispensary marketing company that is looking to revolutionize the world of weed delivery B) an article about sour beers C) a list of all the most haunted places in every state D) an interview with Hawa Hassan about her new cookbook E) an article about how to set up a great at-home karaoke set-up. I’d like to apologize to anyone I may have offended by “going off” on Emily in Paris. As mind-numbing as it is, I do think it’s maybe my favorite show of all time. Til’ tomorrow, [-Ned Riseley, Newsletter Contributor]( [ [( cannabis [] [How ‘420 On Demand’ Is Changing the Weed Delivery World]( 420 On Demand is a marketing company that is committed to helping up-and-coming cannabis brands optimize their businesses and compete with bigger, wealthier brands. With the weed industry on the rise, a lot of wealthy opportunists can benefit from it while less wealthy cannabis sellers get arrested for not being able to enter the industry. 420 On Demand wants to change that. Plus, founders’ Shane Sagar (26) and Joel Nevarez (28) are so young, it’s actually upsetting. [] [It’s 420 Somewhere]( [( [( Food & Drink [] [Let’s Get Sour]( This article is all about sour beers: how they’re brewed, what sour aficionados look for in a sour beer, and some examples of sour beers. I personally do not understand the appeal of sour beer and wonder why one wouldn’t just have a glass of wine, but I suppose now that I know a little more, and have learned the word “tannic,” I would be open to becoming a sour beer sommelier. This article is fun whether you’re a fermentation nerd or a fermentation amateur. I learned a lot. I laughed, I cried, I pursed my lips. [] [Show Me the Sours]( [( [( Travel [] [If You Need Me, I’ll Be in the Bell Witch Cave]( There are haunted places in every state. There’s my bathroom, where I always have to move the shower curtain to see if there’s an evil, pox-covered murderer hiding in the shower. There’s my bedroom, where I always have to check and see if there’s a cannibalistic clown (who looks like Michael Shannon) under the bed. And then there are the official places. This article has a list of all the places that are haunted in the United States, by state. There’s Moon Lake in Utah. There’s Bacon’s Castle in Virginia. There’s the Curtis House Inn in Connecticut. Pick your poison! [] [Spoooooky]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( food & drink [] [Bibi’s Kitchen, a New Cookbook from Hawa Hassan]( Hawa Hassan is the owner of BasBaas, the popular Somali hot sauce and chutney line, and has a brand new cookbook out in stores this week. Nicole Rufus sat down and spoke with Hassan about how the cookbook came to be and her desire to bring more African cooking voices into the home cooking world. Read the article and be sure to order your copy of Bibi’s Kitchen! [] [Take Me There]( [( *720x300 Ad Banner [( karaoke [] [Sing “Total Eclipse of the Heart” to Your Cat at Home]( Just because you can’t go swap germs with strangers at the karaoke bar doesn’t mean you can’t sing karaoke at home. Whether you’re living alone, with a roommate, with a partner, or a quarantine spouse, I’m sure they want to hear you sing “Foolish Games” by Jewel and cry on the last chorus. I don’t want to see that, but I’m sure you have someone in your life who does, so why not treat them to it! And to get started, you’ll wanna take a look at this list of at-home karaoke essentials.
