I know we don’t really know each other, but I feel like I’ve been telling you a lot of stuff and there’s an uneven intimacy that’s developed. I can’t really picture you. I don’t know what you’re doing right now, whether you’re watching Indian Matchmaker on Netflix, or building something out of wood (because, why not?) or finally dealing with some personal issues...but I just want to say: I miss you. I feel like we’re engaged in a kind of old world, one-sided epistolary romance. I will seal this missive with a kiss. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Today’s [Thrillist](includes an episode of Thrillist’s Best Podcast that focuses on wisdom and stories from truck drivers and an article about Priscilla Vilchis, a cannabis entrepreneur from Las Vegas who is looking to legalize marijuana, expunge marijuana related criminal charges, and make business loans for historically underserved business owners more accessible. There’s also a look at the new U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, a list of must-haves for a pit stop picnic, and a scintillating report on how you can celebrate National Chicken Wing Day in style. Okay, you know what to do. It hurts to say goodbye, but just know, that I am eternally yours, in letters, -Ned Riseley, Newsletter Contributor [ [( podcast [] [Podcast Alert: Trucker Wisdom]( Let your eyes rest. You’ve been staring at your screen for too long. It’s time to listen to an informative podcast episode with some special advice, wisdom, and storytelling from four truckers who have seen a lot of the open road. Wil Fulton gets to the bottom of summer roadtripping adventures, which have been on the rise in times of COVID, and learns more about what the open road has to teach us from some experts. [] [Put it in Cruise Control]( [( [( cannabis [] [Priscilla Vilchis Says “Legalize Weed”]( Priscilla Vilchis is an entrepreneur who is committed to legalizing weed, making business loans more accessible for minority business owners, and expunging weed-related criminal offenses. The cannabis industry has been thriving for many years now, which can feel a little vertigo-inducing when one considers how many marijuana-related arrests are racially biased and disproportionately harm historically underrepresented groups. Vilchis’ approach to cannabis entrepreneurship is not only savvy, but also ethical, progressive, and promising of a more just and inclusive cannabis industry. [] [Light My Fire]( [( *720x300 Ad Banner [( news [] [Night at the Museum]( If you were to ask me, “What does the world need right now?” I would probably say, “Improved social services, redistribution of hoarded billionaire wealth, accessible healthcare, innovative approaches to climate disaster, and a vaccine.” I would not say, “A museum about the Olympics,” but then again, I’m someone who walked the mile run in elementary school (came in at a whopping 12:48, thank you very much). That having been said, this new museum in Colorado looks very lovely. They are being extremely responsible about COVID safety, and they shouldn’t be held responsible for producing a vaccine. The Olympics are amazing, and I’m sad they’re not happening. I’ll see you at the museum, at a safe distance. [] [Curate Me!]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( shopping [] [Beautiful Places to Do Hallucinogens with Your Friends]( Road trips can be as stultifyingly boring as they are riveting and enlivening, which is why it’s a good idea to stop every once in a while and have what is known— in some circles—as a “pit stop.” And while you’re at it, why not pitch a cabana, charge your phone, do some yoga, watch A Dog’s Purpose on an iPad, pull a bottle of Chianti out of an alarmingly efficient picnic basket, snap a Polaroid, and play a round of frisbee?! You don’t have to watch A Dog’s Purpose if you don’t want to, but if any of these things appeal, I highly recommend checking out this list of items for the perfect pit stop picnic. Say that 13 times fast. [] [Pull Over!]( [( [( news [] [Merry Chicken Wings to You and Yours]( Another food holiday, thank god! Yesterday was National Chicken Wing Day and I just want you to know that if you missed it, there is still time to celebrate and some incredible ways to get affordable chicken wings. I regret to say that I didn’t get you anything for the holiday, because what do you get the girl who has everything? But I want you to know how much it’s meant to me having you (and chicken wings) in my life. Cheers to you, to barbeque, buffalo, garlic, and teriyaki. Your card is a wet nap, slathered in ranch.
