It’s All Falling Apart [Jeffrey Tucker]Dear Daily Prophecy Reader, Last evening was a very strange one. Twitter started showing clips of Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing an effective end to all restrictions in the UK. Masks, vaccine passports, capacity restrictions, travel limits, social distancing and so on. He said that from now on, the UK would trust the people to manage risks and not rely on government. I could hardly believe my eyes and ears. It was actually happening! Great, but bizarre. There was no real warning that this was coming. Nor did Johnson try to justify this huge turnabout based on the science or the data. He just said it, to huge cheers from Tories and essentially everyone but the labor unions. It was stunning: the whole thing just melted right there on the spot! No report on this in the New York Times or even UK newspapers. It’s the biggest news in two years and it’s not even reported. Still, it’s real and a model for the coming several months. All the nonsense will be unraveled. There will be no apologies, no admissions, no investigations, and very few announcements. Party On! What is the reason for the sudden shift? Johnson was caught at a party just a few days ago, maskless and having loads of fun in a way that would have ended in fines if anyone else had done that. That seemed to trigger something in his mind. It wasn’t just his own hypocrisy. It was the sheer stupidity and brutality of the law. Plus, he was facing a revolt among the Tory loyalists who have never believed in this nonsense. They went along, but they never believed. Now he is facing a massive political revolt from his own ranks. There is also the obvious reality that none of the “public health measures” have panned out. The vaccinations haven’t worked to stop infection and spread. The virus does its thing regardless of restrictions, masking, isolation, and you name it. The whole machinery of government virus control is completely discredited. It’s like Boris woke up one day and realized that he had been hoodwinked by charlatans and pseudo-scientists. He doesn’t want to be remembered as the guy who took away the hard-won freedoms of Brits. So he switched to give them all back, practically overnight. The “measures” have not only failed in England. They have completely flopped the entire world over. Israel is a great case in point. Everyone is vaccinated. Nearly half are boosted. And still cases have hit a record high. There is no shortage of studies out there that not only show that boosting has no effect in reducing cases; many studies are showing the opposite. Meanwhile, the destruction of life and liberty beset this suffering world as never before, outside of wartime. We are dealing with terrible economic wreckage the world over, and will for many years to come. The world can only languish in lies for so long. Once the anomalies become too obvious to ignore, the orthodoxy begins to crumble. That seems to be happening all over the world, first gradually and now it seems to be happening all at once. The crazy Biden administration has realized that it cannot do virus control via government power, and it is gradually changing the script. It’s not only ruling out more restrictions. It seems to be engaged in loopy giveaways like sending N95 masks and testing kits to everyone who wants them. Ridiculous, but there we go. Also the CDC is getting honest about natural immunity. They can no longer deny the data, particularly that which is showing that recovering from infection provides better protection against sickness than vaccination. That especially pertained in the fall of 2021 as Delta was raging and the vaccinations were wearing off. The CDC mouthpiece for the NYT flat-out said it: By the week beginning Oct. 3, however, vaccinated people with a prior diagnosis fared best against the Delta variant. Unvaccinated people with a history of Covid also had lower rates of infection and hospitalization than those protected by vaccines alone. The data are consistent with trends observed in international studies, the researchers said. Waning of vaccine-derived immunity may explain why vaccinated people were less protected from infection with the Delta variant than those who had a prior diagnosis, the researchers said. This is a remarkable admission, coming two years after the agency said hardly even one word about natural immunity, even though, so far as we know, humanity has known that exposure and recovery are the best protection for about two and a half thousand years. It amounted to an extreme avoidance of the science. And why? Well, it’s not a stretch to say that it was always about political control. The consensus, however, does seem to be breaking down and falling apart. Even travel restrictions are melting away. What about these horrifying vaccine passports? What possible rationale is there for maintaining them now that we know for sure that the antibodies gained from prior infection are actually MORE strong than those granted by the vaccine? It makes zero sense. So all these businesses in New York City, Boston, and Washington, D.C., are being bled dry by a policy that has zero scientific backing at all. Hell to Pay I’ve been researching and writing about this topic now for two years. When I think back on the sheer amount of flimflam that has been going on for so long it just boggles the mind. For example, early on, the lies were everything about how this particular virus has an unusually long incubation time during which time people were infectious. There was tremendous asymptomatic spread so of course we have to lock down! After two years, we know this to be untrue. The latency of this virus is pretty much what one would expect. I can’t even begin to chronicle the lies here. But what was particularly egregious were the policy responses. Closing schools, churches, gyms, dental practices, small businesses, while big box stores stayed open, the censorship and shaming, the preposterous rules about how many people you could have in your home, the state-to-state travel restrictions my goodness the world just went utterly insane. And the spending and inflation were out of control. They still are. We’ll be paying for this for half a century or more. And the virus came anyway! My local merchant I’ve listened to for a long time gave me the heads up on many issues, from supply chain disruptions, to inflation, to the sensibilities in the city council and so on. He is some kind of nonpolitical guy with no ax to grind. Yesterday he said to me: “everyone is going to get this virus.” Fauci has said something very close to that. It’s the truth. It should have been said two years ago. None of what has happened to us was necessary. It’s been a complete disaster. And now the disaster is something we are stuck with for the duration. My investment intuition today is that the top losers in the backlash will be Moderna and Pfizer.
