Non-compliance appears to be the only way to live the freedoms we took for granted only two years ago. [Gilder's Daily Prophecy] December 13, 2021 [UNSUBSCRIBE]( | [ARCHIVES]( Unusual trading strategy discovered during the pandemic generated $53k in just over one year. this year a subscriber reached out to our team to tell us about a trading strategy he’d secretly been using to generate thousands of dollars in extra income on a $70k portfolio… Fortunately, I’ve convinced him to “come clean” and reveal his unusual method on camera. [Find out how his secret here…]( Nothing Is Off the Table? Nothing? [Jeffrey Tucker]Dear Daily Prophecy Reader, It was just another White House press conference. Just the usual obsequious and slavish press currying favor with the beloved spokesperson Jen Psaki. The press tries to ask questions in a way that elicits from her that much coveted remark: “good question.” Ah, now that’s a job well done! Maybe this reporter will get invited back to the White House for more press conferences! Without access, their jobs are toast. With the threat of exclusion, the Biden administration is able to dictate and control almost the whole of American media. Like you, I find these press conferences painful. It’s especially frustrating when Psaki says something outrageous and downright evil, and everyone has to pretend like this is perfectly normal. So, for example, Psaki was asked about restrictions on domestic travel. Is the Biden administration considering imposing a vaccine mandate on travelers within the US? Her immediate answer: “nothing is off the table.” NOTHING? Think about that answer. It’s appalling. The whole point of a Constitutional Republic is that many things are off the table. Most things in fact. That’s the idea of a Constitution. It’s a deal between the government and the people that there are certain things government can do and certain things it cannot do. The framers underscored the point by adding a Bill of Rights if only to assure the population that many things are completely off the table. We have travelled so far down the road to outright tyranny that a White House spokesman can casually abolish the Constitution and no one thinks a thing about it. She was never asked to make a correction in her language. She was never even called on it. We have come to assume that the US president is a kind of dictator. It makes all the laws, based on advisors and their opinions for which they bear no responsibility. The edicts are issued by regulatory agencies. The courts weigh in over time, provided there are challenges, which can be expensive and slow. So far, the courts have been moderately fine, sometimes even great. They have shot down most vaccine mandates for example. And yet the mandates continue. The White House has come to realize that the courts have no police force. They merely issue opinions. Whether and to what extent they are binding is ever less clear. And so what is the role of Congress? According to the Constitution, it is supposed to make the laws. Now it seems only there to vote for trillions in spending to enable the executive to make the laws. How can it do this? By issuing debt. Who buys the debt? The Fed with its power to create unending money without limit. Don’t Buy Any Crypto Until You Read This New Book! not… I repeat… [Do NOT buy a single cryptocurrency until you read this new book](. This Is NOT Normal We’ve hardly noticed how dramatically life has been upended in two years. Even thinking about it is too traumatic. Our beloved freedoms, and the structures of government that we long took for granted, were wiped out in an instant. We are gradually getting our freedoms back but only with conditions. We must get the jab. We must not get sick. We must constantly defer to the ruling class. If we raise objections, we find our social media accounts blocked, locked, and closed. Now we hear from the White House that there is literally nothing that is ruled out in terms of the compulsion and coercion they can impose upon us. They will “follow the science” while actually completely ignoring it. The edicts they pass, they blame on committees filled with people who refuse to put their names on anything they do for fear of having to take responsibility. Meanwhile, we have a true economic crisis brewing, starting most pressingly with inflation. This is because even dictatorships cannot evade the consequences of their actions. I spent the week in the nation’s capital doing interviews and meetings. It was productive. But it was also shocking in many ways, starting with prices. Just getting across town breaks the bank. I paid $40 to get from Foggy Bottom to Union Station in an Uber. I swear this trip used to be about $7. The labor shortages have profoundly affected the transportation sector in cities. Cabs are actually few and far between in D.C, simply because 1) so many people among the driving class have left the city, 2) many have abandoned cabs for Ubers, and 3) many workers are just too demoralized to bother. Another thing I noticed was very troubling. I looked around the airport and saw multitudes of masked people shuffling along with their heads down, arriving early in case of flight troubles and lines, and so not rushing anywhere. The shops were mostly empty. Passengers sat in bars swilling liquor even at early hours. The rest of the travellers were sitting with their masks, not talking to their neighbors (how can you with masks?) but instead staring at their phones, clicking from app to app and vaguely texting with friends who are not there. It was a dreary scene straight out of a dystopian movie. The Great Demoralization The most profound worry I felt in March 2020 concerned the psychological effect on the population from having their own governments treat people like lab rats. Deborah Birx stood in the press conference of March 16, 2020, and said that everyone should stay separate from everyone else. Not one reporter pushed back. Trump stood there nodding his head as if there was nothing weird about an unelected lifetime bureaucrat announcing the construction of a completely new social and economic system. Most people were too shocked to complain. I’ve been realizing something very important about the role of Trump here. It’s often said that only Nixon could have restored relations with China because if a Democrat had attempted that, he would have been red baited and stopped. People trusted Nixon’s anti-communist credentials. This is what made that dramatic move possible. It’s the same with Trump and the lockdowns. Had Obama or Biden been in office in March 2020, they never would have gotten away with this. There would have been mass outrage. The Republicans would have urged universal resistance. The lockdown plans would have blown up even before they went into effect. As it was, Trump had already obtained folk-hero status for having survived two impeachment attempts. He was granted the benefit of doubt for his demand that the country somehow put a massive pause on all productivity for two weeks. Then he was given a pass when pushed for Congress to vote tens of billions in bailout money. By the time that he realized that he had been trolled, it was too late. History will record that it was a Republican president who kicked off the total transformation of our country from having a presumption in favor of freedom to becoming a country in which we presume that “nothing is off the table.” That’s a true tragedy. Now we are nearly powerless to stop whatever comes next, at least not legally. It’s a sad state of affairs where non-compliance appears to be the only way to live the freedoms we took for granted only two years ago. Regards, [Jeffrey Tucker] Jeffrey Tucker P.S.
