The Case Against Despair [Jeffrey Tucker]Dear Daily Prophecy Reader, There was something about this weekend that felt absolutely dreadful and demoralizing. All my friends are convinced that hell is being unleashed all over again. I believe this is an illusion, deliberately created to keep you downcast. In fact, we have every reason to look forward with hope. We do not have to accept doom as our fate. The ranks of the rebels are growing by the day, and the determination to overcome is intensifying. I will explain more below, but let’s first examine what happened. The masks were back at church and in malls, revealing the CDC’s influence. Not that anyone really believes they truly work. If they did, we would know that by now. But they do work as important symbols. Be afraid. Forget normal life. Suffer for the good of the whole. We live in unprecedented times that require us to adopt official pronouncements as articles of faith. And many people go along – far too many. Large companies that depend on the beneficence of big government are imposing vaccine mandates, not because they believe in them, but as a pious overture to the priorities of our lords and masters. [Will this weird device be in your home soon?]( Rise of Dissent And yet, with each round of panic and imposition, the ranks of dissent grow. It is still too few and it has taken far too long for people to come around. I’ve been preaching against this despotic dance since late-January 2020, when I first observed Western elites looking lustily at China’s experience in muscling the population of whole cities, and warned that they wanted to try that here. Yes, I figured there would be a revolt. There wasn’t. In some ways, the lockdowns in the US were structured to prevent that. How can you march in the streets when you live under police-enforced stay-at-home orders? How can you march on the capital when the building itself is protected like the American embassy in Kabul? How can you voice your opinion when the venues that once solicited your input silence and ban you? Yes, they seemed to think of everything. And some people fell in love with the new-found power over the population. To them, freedom is boring. Real excitement in life comes from enacting and imposing huge plans that treat the human population as lab rats in an experiment. Even though the experiment flopped, the joy of running it was palpable and now they don’t want to let go. In this sense, the Delta variant arrived just in time. It’s got a catchy name. It seems even to outwit vaccines sometimes or often. Like most viral mutations, it is more infectious (forget that it is less deadly). If you have spent the better part of 18 months getting people whipped up in fear about infection, an even more prevalent mutation is a godsend for generating prolonged public hysteria. 5G: Buyers Remorse [Buyer's Remorse]( people with 5G phones are facing the harsh truth - their phones aren’t receiving 5G signals consistently… and keep slipping back to 4G. The good news is there is a breakthrough new technology that will work with 5G phones, 4G phones, and even outdated 3G phones. And it has advantages that 5G can never have. [To know more about what the future of smart phones and internet, Click Here.]( Sunday, Formerly Known as the Day of Rest In the old days, Sunday was blessedly free of news. No more. Thanks to the Sunday talk shows, and Anthony Fauci’s weekly performances, Sunday now generates the biggest headlines of the week. This week, Fauci went on TV to say that he didn’t believe that new lockdowns are coming. Talk about a bad omen! That’s exactly what he said in January 2020. Even the tone in his voice suggested that he was saying this to warm people up to the possibility. The senior editor of the DC newspaper Human Events, a man with solid contacts in the White House, tweeted out that the Biden administration is right now preparing a big speech by Biden for delivery next week. It will be of the sort that George Bush delivered when the Iraq War began: a solemn announcement that all of life is now sublimated to a single political end, and so therefore everyone must unite in support of the mission and the man who is leading it. Is it true? If I had to bet, I would say yes. But it’s a huge miscalculation. The environment of August 2021 is very different from March 2020. People have learned to distrust. They’ve learned not to fear. They’ve learned that much of the messaging from the CDC and government is structured not to tell what’s true but to massage public opinion to extract compliance. A great example is the new mandate to make the kids in school wear masks. The piles of studies and evidence that kids are not threatened by this virus or any mutation is miles high, as they point. Every parent knows this. Plus parents love their children, and do not believe it is a good thing to cover their faces any longer. The fury out there among parents with school-age kids is huge. Let me share with you a chart created out of CDC data from my friend Justin Hart. This is a breakdown of Covid deaths by age. It reveals that deaths among those 85 and older are nearly as much as all other groups combined. There is a reason that the CDC does not provide this type of visualization. It brings rationality and clarity about risk factors and what to do about it. [Chart with no citation] The real experience with this virus in people’s lives is nothing like how it is being marketed to us by our masters. We all know someone who has had it. Younger people experience a cough and loss of taste. Older people with weaker immune systems can be vexed much harder, sometimes being hospitalized. Among much older people, it can be fatal for about 4%, almost entirely among those with additional health problems. So yes, the virus is real but no, not a reason for a fundamental restructuring of the social order. [This New Technology is about to reach “Critical Mass”]( Fake vs Reality The chasm between the fake world — manufactured by governments — and the real world experience is growing by the day. Government can only panic people when they are shocked and surprised by new developments. The nonsense all around us is hardly new. It has lasted far longer than it should, but it is old and worn by now. More people than ever realize that this bug is going to take its own course, and it will not be affected by any speech by the president. Biden’s poll numbers are finally moving south, and the popularity of his VP is in the basement. The longer they keep up the panic porn, they more they are dooming themselves in the next election. I’m convinced that it is going to be a doozy – a genuine reputation of everything they stand for, including the outrageous spending, the inflation, the impositions and stringencies, and the attempt to remake American in the image of the woke. Today’s Prophecy As for big tech and its censorious acquiescence to the agenda of the reigning elites, a reckong of the highest order is on its way. The silencing has affected too many, and too brazenly contradicts the spirit of the first amendment in ways that chills anyone with a modicum of attachment to the ideals of freedom. I never wanted things to get this bad before we turn the corner toward better. But those better days are coming, and the seething anger in the population today – along with the incredulity toward powerful institutions – guarantees that the reaction will be transformative. If an economic crisis arrives, and this is a distinct possibility, the anger will point in one place: the White House. As unpopular as Trump was, the fury directed against an administration that has deployed fear and suffering as a means of plunder and destruction will be like nothing we’ve seen in our lifetimes. Ironically, that will be the dawn. The voices currently suppressed will not only speak, but yell so loudly as to fundamentally shake the culture to its foundations. These dark times will be discredited and we can look forward to a new enlightenment. That’s my counterintuitive prediction. Give it some time to become true.
