Hi {NAME}, I wasn’t planning on writing a newsletter today. But I just had the pleasure of working out with (and recording an interview) with 8 time medalist and most decorated winter Olympian, Apolo Ohno. What I gathered from him might just be some good inspiration for you heading into the weekend, so I thought I would share my biggest takeaways: 1. Training, even at an olympic athlete level, in somewhat of a deficit was not just common, but considered optimal for a lot of athletes. They just seemed to do it naturally when it came down to at least shorter distance and more anaerobic performance. Doesn’t mean this is scientifically "accurate" but it means that your own n=1 and anecdotal experience is what matters. 2. Belief supercedes all. Believing that you have that 6th gear when all others only have 5 gears is a true superpower. But you need to double-blind yourself and sincerely believe it. 3. The top athletes were using saunas 6-7 days per week, even back in the 1990’s before social media was touting the benefits. 4. The top athletes were also using cold plunges, loooong before it was cool (pun intended). 5. Breaking up with the sport that you have wrapped up your entire self-worth in is really, really tough. But this is a message for other things too, not just sports. When your identity is wrapped up in something, and then that goes away, you need to find an outlet that is healthy and recalibrates you. 6. Exercise is the ultimate antidote to depression/anxiety. There was so much more that I learned today. Not only did we have an amazing workout, but we also connected and formed a friendship. Keep a lookout for this video coming out soon! Also - if you like the benefits of red light therapy but are moreso looking for the benefits directly on your face (circadian benefits, skin, rejuvenation)... Here is a 15% off discount link for the Bon Charge Red Light Therapy Mask: [ Its super convenient because you can actually walk around while wearing it and still get the benefits of red light! Anyhow, I will see you tomorrow as usual! Thomas Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Thomas DeLauer, PO Box 1120, Stateline, NV 89449, United States
