Longevity is a tricky word {NAME}, Most of the supplements that are out there in the realm of longev

Longevity is a tricky word {NAME}, Most of the supplements that are out there in the realm of longevity are overhyped and based on pretty fringe, sketchy science. The funny thing is that most of the supplements that have the most merit when it comes to longevity are actually inexpensive and basic. 1. Vitamin C- As far as an antioxidant is concerned, Vitamin-C is one of the most researched compounds. It’s fairly one-dimensional in the world of longevity as the reason it is so potent is simply because of it’s ability to scavenge DNA damaging free radicals. That being said, it would be irresponsible to NOT mention it since it is so well vetted. I recommend going to your doctor and even get an IV now and then as that might be the best way to get a bolus. Otherwise, a few thousand mg per day and of course, your fruits. 2. Senolytic Ingredients - Senolytic Ingredients are compounds designed to aid in senescent cell accumulation (a big reason we start to feel "old" in our thirties and forties). Your body creates and eliminates cells your entire life through a process called apoptosis, almost the way a gardener prunes old yellow leaves off a plant to allow for new healthy growth. But the problem is, as we age, our bodies aren’t as good at this "pruning" process of getting rid of these old useless cells in us, called senescent cells (or "zombie cells", since they just linger in us after we want them gone). So senescent cells start accumulating in our bodies, and we waste more and more energy and nutritional resources on them, even though they’re not helping our health anymore. And this phenomenon can cause A LOT of those age-related symptoms that start creeping in around age 30, as our bodies become less efficient at using our energy and nutrition towards cells that are actually helping our health! But the good news is a scientific discovery was made in just the last decade which arms us with some knowledge on how to go about this. In fact, it takes just two days a month! In 2015, Scripps and Mayo Clinic both published research on a newly discovered group of ingredients that actually help your body eliminate senescent cells! These ingredients, now supported by even more research in recent years, are called senolytic ingredients. The term "senolytic" in latin translates to "destroy the old" (as in old senescent cells). Ingredients like: - Fisetin (A flavonol found in certain fruits and vegetables such as persimmon and strawberry that supports healthy tissue by helping with pruning of stressed cells.)* - Piperlongumine (An extract from the long-pepper plant of Asia that supports senolytic and immune functions to help manage stressed cells).* - Senactiv® (A patented blend of notoginseng root and chestnut rose hips that supports exercise recovery and management of senescent cells in muscle.)* There is a company that created as nice blend of these, it’s called, [Qualia Senolytic.]( It combines NINE of the most research-backed senoyltics (including all the ones I just listed). For me, it took just a couple months, and even as a fit guy, I felt like I quite a robust change in how I felt (I have some videos on the topic of senescence that cover this). I HIGHLY Recommend [Qualia Senolytic]( if you're a science based supplement user. It’s vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, and you can try it for 100 days to make sure you like it, too, so why not see how your own energy and workout recovery* feels after a few months. [Go here to try Qualia Senolytic currently up to 50% off,]( and code TDSENO at checkout scores you another 15% off. 3. Ginger A spice which shows potential related to anti-aging is ginger as its root is commonly used in cooking and for medicinal purposes (for good reason!) A study in Advanced Pharmaceutical Bulletin looked at the effect of ginger on levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in a population of people with T2D. They recruited 64 patients and assigned them to either a ginger or placebo group which received 2 tablets/day for 2 months. They found that compared to the control group, ginger supplementation significant reduced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and CRP when comparing pre- to post-intervention. It is thought that much of this effect may be thanks to 2 ginger compounds in particular – gingerol and zingerone. We still need a lot more data to understand how this will benefit us independent of the inflammatory pathway, but still fascinating that it’s so simple and easy. 4. Bromelain Again, we need more clinical trials using this compound in humans, but an interesting study in the Journal of the Pakistan Medical Association performed a review on bromelain in terms of its potential anti-inflammatory properties. Their conclusion was that "Bromelain equals non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as an anti-inflammatory agent, but has been shown to have fewer side effects" which is a very indicative of just how good a supplement it could be for longevity. Mechanistically, studies in rats showed that bromelain activated the arachidonic acid pathway to reduce prostaglandin levels. Of course studies specific to longevity and lifespan would need to be conducted before making any strong statements. The arachadonic pathway is the same pathway that gets activated when we eat something very inflammatory. So reversing this could be huge! 5. Theaflavins (or black tea) A study in Experimental Gerontology looked at the effect of black tea extract on the lifespan of fruit flies and found that it significantly increased lifespan from 51 days to 56 days on average, around a 10% increase in lifespan. This is not to say that it will have the same effect in humans, but it is interesting. They also showed that mechanistic data in that black tea extract was associated with increased expression of superoxide dismutase and catalase enzymes – key in modulating oxidative stress. Finally, they also found that when fat was added to the diet (lots of it), oxidative stress was induced and shortened the lifespan to 15 days, while adding of black tea extract increased this back up to 28 days (almost doubled!) I know this is not human model, but the point of this newsletter was to showcase supplements that have PROMISE. Because in the world of longevity, that’s all we really have to look at, is promise. We can take lots of data and get excited about what we’re seeing, but at the end of the day, we need to work with what seems the most effective in humans and rodents for the most part. [Qualia’s Senolytics]( definitely shows some promise considering the stammering amount of vetted ingredients, but it never hurts to rotate out different options as well! See you tomorrow! Thomas PS - I do not want to leave out our strong friend, NMN. NMN is a powerful precursor to NAD+ which is required for cell survival and repair. Without NAD, we’d be deceased in 15 seconds. I’ve just talked about NMN so much on my channel and via email, I wanted to share some new ones! Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Thomas DeLauer, PO Box 1120, Stateline, NV 89449, United States

Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
