The company reported iPhone revenue that fell short of analysts' expectations. Apple's smartphone line is a key profit engine, but net income was up 2.3% on an annual basis at $19.9 billion thanks to record revenue of $21 billion from the company's service unit, driven by paid music and TV streaming and purchases in Apple's App Store.
