Also inside: “Iatrogenic” Deaths [783,000 per year] Sunday, Aug 20, 2023  IATROGENIC = “Caused by Medicine”  Did you know that according to a 2004 report authored by multiple medical doctors (entitled “Death by Medicine”), the total number of deaths caused by conventional medicine is an astounding 783,936 per year?  Sadly, back in 1996, when Dad was diagnosed with cancer, the initial prognosis was that he would have 2 years to live without chemo. They removed 75% of his stomach, and after 19 blood transfusions, they just couldn’t stop the bleeding, and he died in 25 days.  While his death certificate indicated “adenocarcinoma” as the cause of death, the actual cause of death was actually a botched surgery. Dad’s death was iatrogenic.  This was the beginning of our mission, and it continues to this day! And until midnight tomorrow, we’re having a [Flash Sale]( where you can SAVE 43% on our “magnum opus” of cancer-fighting info -- Cancer: Step Outside The Box.  >> [LEARN MORE HERE]( <<  Exactly 282 years ago, on August 20, 1741, the Russian explorer and naval officer, Vitus Bering, and his crew aboard the St. Peter made landfall on what is now known as Kayak Island, marking the discovery of Alaska. Bering was leading the Second Kamchatka Expedition, a massive Russian effort aimed at exploring the coastlines of Siberia and North America. Sponsored by Russian Empress Anna, the expedition aimed to determine whether Asia and North America were connected or separated by a strait.  Bering's journey across the North Pacific Ocean confirmed that Asia and North America were separate continents, separated by the Bering Strait. Bering and his crew stayed in Alaska for only ten hours before embarking on their return voyage to Russia. Unfortunately, the expedition was beset with difficulties, including bad weather and illness among the crew, which led to their shipwreck on Bering Island. Bering himself succumbed to illness and died on the island that now bears his name.  The expedition led to Russia's interest in Alaska and the eventual colonization of the region by Russian settlers. By the 1780s, Russian fur traders had established a series of outposts along the Alaskan coastline. However, by the mid-1800s, Russia was struggling financially and looking to divest itself of its overseas territories. In 1867, the United States, under the leadership of Secretary of State William H. Seward, agreed to purchase Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million, or approximately two cents per acre. The acquisition of Alaska became known as "Seward's Folly," as many at the time viewed the purchase as imprudent.  However, the importance of Alaska to the United States quickly became apparent. Alaska is rich in natural resources, including oil, natural gas, minerals, and seafood. The discovery of gold in the late 1800s and the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline in the 1970s were key drivers of economic growth in the region. Additionally, Alaska's strategic location has played a critical role in U.S. defense and national security efforts, especially during the Cold War.  Today, Alaska is a vital part of the United States, known for its breathtaking natural beauty, diverse Indigenous cultures, and abundant wildlife. Its discovery by Vitus Bering paved the way for centuries of exploration, colonization, and ultimately statehood.  Unfortunately, when it comes to food and drugs, there are many safety issues that aren’t “discovered” until it’s too late.
