Also Inside: CDC Director Testifies + Hidden Environmental Toxins Sunday, June 25, 2023 Â Happy Sun

Also Inside: CDC Director Testifies + Hidden Environmental Toxins Sunday, June 25, 2023  Happy Sunday, {NAME}  137 years ago today, the southern states of Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina were officially readmitted to the Union, marking a significant step in the healing and reunification of a nation torn apart by the Civil War. These states were among the eleven that had seceded from the Union between 1860 and 1861, launching a bloody conflict that would shape the nation's history and identity. The wounds from that period run deep, yet the readmission of these states symbolized a step towards mending the divide and reclaiming a shared vision for the United States.  The secession of the southern states, triggered by the deeply entrenched issue of slavery, started with South Carolina in December 1860, shortly after the election of President Abraham Lincoln. Georgia, Alabama, and Florida followed in January 1861, with Louisiana joining later that same month, and North Carolina in May. The secession led to a four-year long Civil War, a violent and divisive conflict that resulted in over 600,000 casualties, the abolition of slavery, and a deeply fractured nation.  The path towards reunification after the Civil War was a complex and challenging one, marked by the era known as Reconstruction. During this period, the southern states were gradually readmitted to the Union upon meeting specific requirements, including ratifying the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments, which respectively abolished slavery, granted equal protection under the law, and extended voting rights regardless of "race, color, or previous condition of servitude." The readmission of Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina on June 25, 1886, was a significant milestone on this path.  The journey of these six states from secession to readmission provides a narrative of a nation's struggle and resilience. This journey underlines the importance of dialogue, compromise, and an unwavering commitment to the fundamental principles that underpin our democracy. These principles include equality, freedom, and justice for all, the cornerstones upon which the United States was built, and which must guide our steps as we navigate our future.  We’ve got some great articles that you may have missed, including a new installment of delicious (and nutritious!) cancer-fighting recipes, seven ways to tackle stress and anxiety naturally, and a look at CDC director Rochelle Walensky’s congressional hearing.  In addition, we’re taking a look at 5 deadly toxins that are ubiquitous in our world today (along with 5 great ways to fight back) PLUS we’re taking a look at the benefits of rosemary extract – especially when it comes to healthy skin.  Let’s dive in…   Unmasking Controversy: Congressional Hearing w/ CDC Director – CDC Director Walensky was brought before Congress to testify about her claims that the COVID shots stopped infection and transmission.
