Or at least your threes. Omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids are all extremely important and offer many benefits. Although omega-3s are the most well-known, it’s important to make sure you get the right balance of each omega for optimal health.   While each of these fatty acids has a role to play, omega-3s are probably the most important as far as supplementation. Since excess omega-6s can be bad for your health, it’s best to eliminate processed foods and excess grains.Omega-9 fatty acids are not considered essential since the body produces them naturally. It is so damaging to our bodies, in fact, that it ranks right up there with poor diet and exposure to toxic substances in terms of how it influences the formation and progression of serious health conditions like cancer.  We would even argue that stress is perhaps more problematic in terms of cancer risk than some of the other usual suspects. This is because it's something that many people carry around with them all the time without giving it a second thought. In the 21st century, in other words, stress has pretty much become second nature. It’s now a "normal" part of everyday life for busy people, despite the fact that it's silently taking a major toll on public health.   What makes the situation worse is that mainstream medicine routinely ignores the scientific link between stress and cancer. In fact, many conventional doctors and oncologists even vehemently deny that stress plays any role whatsoever in causing cancer.  The body’s stress-response system isn't designed to remain activated for prolonged periods of time (acute stress vs chronic stress. How Germs Prevent Childhood Cancer  Acute lymphoblastic leukemia, or ALL, is the most common childhood cancer. But according to research from across the pond, a major contributing factor could be that our babies are too clean. Mel Greaves, a research professor at the Institute of Cancer in London and the study’s author, says that the cancer has a biological cause and may be preventable.  While there are some children genetically predisposed to ALL, the study found that only 1% of them go on to develop the disease, implicating an environmental factor. The researchers also discovered that the disease was more prominent in affluent societies, which suggests that this is an issue of “nature vs nurture.†  When it comes to weakened immune systems, there are many culprits.
