[] Today's market commentary from TradingPub is here! To view this email as a web page, go [here.]( To view this email as a web page, go [here.]( [] [] [] This Stock Has 98% Upside The war in Ukraine has changed the global energy markets forever. For decades, Russia sold crude and natural gas through a vast pipeline system into Europe. But after the massive sanctions slapped on Russian energy companies and exporters, the nation has turned its attention elsewhere. Russia isn’t selling to Germany… It’s selling to China, India and Brazil (three partners in the BRICS alignment). Russia does ship crude through pipelines to China. But those pipelines are now maxed out. They can’t suddenly expand capacity. Nothing else will pass. So, they need to ship crude one other way. By ship. What a situation it has unleashed on the global energy supply chain. Russia Hits the Arctic For decades, Russia has been building crude shipping facilities along the Arctic Ocean. But it has been the last year that Russia has increased its shipping capacity out of the northern region. The reason for these Arctic ports is that Russia needs to get crude out of its heavy crude producing region in West Siberia. The map below offers a clear indication of Russia’s predicament if it can’t ship crude west via pipeline. [] It must move it north. Russia has been shipping crude to China through the Northern passage, while shipping crude to India through other channels. In addition, Russian oil has moved via tanker around Scandinavia, and south through the Atlantic. A 650,000-barrel ship is currently a few hundred miles away from Brazil, where Russia hopes to expand its relationship and ties to South America. The Impact of Russian Sea Fare The demand for ships has increased dramatically in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war. With global oil demand expected to top 100 million barrels for the next two years, shipping volumes are forecasted to remain high. In addition, some of the largest tanks are now commanding daily prices of more than $50,000. The markets have logically priced in the reduction in output from OPEC+ through the balance of the year. But some of the top analysts in the shipping space foresee elevated rates for some time. The reason? A lack of new shipping capacity. Globally, the number of new oil-shipping vessels is only expected to increase by 2% this year. But over the next two years, the number of new “net” ships will be flat. This creates an interesting scenario, because any additional ships that move into retirement will create even greater scarcity and higher prices. So there are at least two more solid years of revenue ahead. Our Latest Value Pick This week, we added our latest Value play to the [Tactical Wealth Investor]( portfolio. And it’s right there in the shipping space. Sure, there are several names you could select. But we found the one with the strongest financial discipline that’s trading under its tangible book value (the sum of its parts), and it pays a dividend, trades at a massive discount to its peers, and has an upside — according to one shipping analyst — of 98% from here.
