Let’s see how much upside firepower it can generate before it starts reverting back to the main trend… [] It generally takes a stock about three to four days after a big news event to begin reverting. That said, broad markets came back down to earth after ripping on the open… only to begin rallying again late in the afternoon. Check out this 5-minute chart of the S&P 500 (SPY)... [] The orange line is the VWAP, which is about the halfway point of the day’s slide off the highs. The bulls pushed us right up past it, which is bullish. Let’s see how we close the day… With all that in mind, there’s an ETF that tracks big Chinese companies, the iShares China Large-Cap ETF (NYSEArca: FXI). It’s sitting at its 200-day moving average after a long stretch below it. If it breaks that level, we could see strong upside move from China, which would cause more upside for Chinese stocks on U.S. exchanges — like Alibaba (BABA) — giving the global economy a bit more support. This would be welcome news for U.S. stocks, especially following news from Hong Kong that it plans to support the Chinese stock market!
