When I sat down to write I thought to myself… “Is that REALLY what they need on a Sunday?” So instead, I decided to do something fun… You probably already know, but just in case – I live and [work]( in Florida, just across the street from the beach… I don't share the city for privacy reasons, but I feel comfortable telling you I can be on the beach in 60 seconds or less. I love it here, the silly “Florida Man” stories on the Internet notwithstanding. One of the main reasons is because Florida history is REALLY interesting. From the Spanish searching for the Fountain of Youth to the Cocaine Cowboy period in the 80's. That's why I love Tom Dorsey's books. The main character, Serge A Storms (a play off 'storm surge') is a kind of vigilante anti-hero. Think Dexter or Ray Donovan. Dorsey weaves Florida history into the books, which makes an already great story even more interesting. If you are a reader, I can't recommend Dorsey enough. Just fair warning, if you start reading his books you might end up living on a beach in Florida and enjoying the weekends people watching at a tiki bar.
