I think the nearly 300 emails I received qualifies as a sufficient sample size to conclude NO ONE trusts the Fed. Or any of the board members who get trotted out to clarify the communication regarding the last misstep made. [Join the Options360 community today!]( The bottom line is the growing distrust and politicization of government institutions has spread to the Fed. And now, no one trusts them to do the right thing. It was a bit of a loaded question in that anyone with awareness of the Fed's history knows they have rarely been able to predict future economic outcomes, and never give pause to the unexpected consequences of their actions. Which have basically led to bailouts for the corporations and asset owners leading to increased wealth inequality. Your responses ranged from a simple 'don't trust them' to vociferous diatribes against their very existence. A few articles I wrote… “Should we end the Fed? Probably, but at the time I don't have a better mousetrap for managing the bloated balance sheet and rickety plumbing that our financial systems run on.” Now I have an answer: set the fed funds rate at 4%. Permanently. Then disband and go home. You no longer get to stroke your chins while living off the taxpayers. [Never miss a trade!]( If they can still get $500k speaking gigs, more power to them.
