Letter from the Founders to TSP Fam! 💌 Hey TSP fam! Some of you might have read it in the papers. But if you haven’t, The State Plate recently got acquired by Justmyroots, a company who is the pioneer in delivering intercity fresh food! It is a big milestone for us at The State Plate, and this means that bigger and better things are coming your way soon! As we become a part of a larger organization, I could not help but think about you, our customers. The reason we have continued to thrive since 2020. It is with your support, feedback and love for the brand that we have been able to get here today. So I am writing a loooong letter to my TSP family today. Bear with me. We started building The State Plate officially, on July 31, 2020. I am sure most of you know the story of how it all started. My family was craving some Rajasthani Papad in Bangalore, and we hit the realization that getting authentic, regional products for people living away from their hometowns was no easy feat. And hence began the TSP story! First, we brought the top brands from across the country to your doorstep. Snacks, Sweets, Staples, Spices, Pickles, Chutney, Mukhwas and Sherbats – if it was a packaged food product which was authentic, we had to have it on our website! A year later, we introduced our own brand, when we realized that a lot of amazing products we sold did not come with proper packaging by our local vendors. Our brand continues to receive exceptional love and some of our products have emerged out as shining stars! We also got to partner with some cool folks throughout our journey. We raised funding from Antler in late 2021 to expand our offerings. In early 2022, we got our 15 minutes of fame on Shark Tank India! I am sure everyone has seen that episode! We were fortunate to be backed by Peyush Bansal, CEO of Lenskart on the show. Our journey has had its ups and downs, like any young startup does. We have made many mistakes, even disappointed our customers sometimes, but the reason it all works out is because we continue to believe in the mission of bringing our country’s delicious flavours to your doorstep. And we continue to work hard, improve and get better every day as we try to realize that mission. With our new partnership with Justmyroots, we have been opened up to a whole new realm of possibilities! We will not only be able to offer you packaged food now, but also serve you the best of fresh food from your favourite cities. Chole Bhature, Biryani or Sandesh – we can’t wait to introduce you to the brilliant assortment that Justmyroots has to offer. We will also be significantly improving our delivery systems and timelines to serve you food faster and fresher! We will expand our product range and put 10x more emphasis on giving you the most top-notch taste and quality. We are beyond excited for you to join us as we embark on a new journey at The State Plate. We are sure that you are going to love the TSP 2.0 story, as much as you have loved and supported the first leg. Signing off for now.
