In an interview over the weekend, [President Biden]( said an Israeli offensive into Rafah is a “red line” and that Netanyahu’s “hurting Israel more than helping Israel.” Still, the president reiterated his support, saying the US wouldn’t cut off its supply of weapons to the Israeli military. [In response](, Netanyahu said the president's comments about hurting Israel were “wrong.” He said an invasion of Rafah is necessary to defend Israel's national security and eliminate Hamas.
