Biden also called for an immediate cease-fire and a deal that would lead to the release of hostages. But Israeli officials didn’t provide a timeline or say how much aid would be allowed in. Israel also reportedly said it would take measures to protect civilians and push for a temporary cease-fire in exchange for hostages. It's unclear if Israel's response will be enough for the US. In the meantime, Democrats praised Biden’s hard-line approach.
