Hi {NAME}, The Register: Tech Resources - 12 February 2020 ### Your Guide to Becoming Truly Data-Driven with Unrivalled Data Analytics Performance Whether you’re a C-suite executive who needs to make key strategic decisions, or a Data Architect or BI user responsible for managing all the data to make these strategic decisions possible – this guide is designed to give you an introduction to Exasol and explain how their analytics database can help you. Whatever your role within your organization, Exasol's vision is to make your life easier, allowing you to make timely and informed decisions that improve every aspect of your business. But getting the most from your data requires more from the tools you use – and that often means using several tools in conjunction with each other. Just as important as identifying and using the right tool for the right job, it’s important to acknowledge that, together, different tools have a greater power when you want to maximize the value of your data. Exasol is the world’s fastest in-memory analytic database; Alteryx is a leading data blending solution; Tableau is a market-leading data visualization tool. Each offers unique and powerful functionality to process, arrange and visualize your data. But what makes these more powerful? A combination of all three in a single solution stack: EAT. By bringing together all three tools, you can take advantage of high-speed data analytics (Exasol), then mix and blend your data (Alteryx) and visualize and bring the outcomes to life (Tableau). As a result, you get the benefits of all three. But we don’t spend enough time talking about your data. What is it? How much is anyone actually using? And is there a more efficient way of managing it than traditional storage tiering? Komprise argues that the answer to the last question is a big yes. It has helped customers to quit their addiction to storage using intelligent deep analysis of their data, which it claims leads to radically better cost and capacity management. Join us live as Krishna Subramanian, COO at Komprise, explains to The Reg’s Tim Phillips how you can slash storage costs and improve performance. And especially for skeptics: a live demo of how Komprise’s tech works, plus a Q&A. Signup Now ### What next after Netezza? IBM has officially announced the discontinuation of support for the Netezza product line, starting in July 2019. This forces its customers to move to a new platform for enterprise support. The migration path to IBM’s suggested replacement product, the IBM Integrated Analytics System (IIAS), is far from straightforward. In fact, the migration is proving to be a much more complex and time-intensive exercise than most people anticipated. As a result, many existing Netezza customers are sensibly looking to re-evaluate the current marketplace to explore easier and quicker migration options. Fortunately, Exasol's analytics database is an in-memory, column-oriented, relational database management system (RDMS) that’s conceptually similar to Netezza. However, they’ve taken the massive parallel computing (MPP) concept to a new higher level to enable improved and accelerated data analytic capabilities on flexible, commodity hardware. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
