McConnell breaks with Tuberville Today In America Your Opinion   Should Biden Close The Southern Border To Stop Illegals Surge? [Yes, He Should →]( No, [He Already Is →](   McConnell Breaks With Tuberville on Military Nominees   Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Wednesday said that he does not support Sen. Tommy Tuberville's (R-Ala.) blanket hold on more than 20 military nominees, saying it is "not a productive way to proceed."   Tuberville, who is in his first term in the Senate, has placed holds on nominees for a variety of positions, including the assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology, the assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition, and the commander of U.S. Special Operations Command.   McConnell said that he believes Tuberville's holds are "not a productive way to proceed" and that he hopes the senator will reconsider his position.   "I think it's important to have a full complement of people in place to lead our military," McConnell said. “I hope Sen. Tuberville will reconsider his position and allow these nominees to move forward.”   Here are some facts about May 10th   - 1908: Mother's Day is observed for the first time in the United States, in Grafton, West Virginia. - 1924: J.
