Also: United Airlines system outage causes nationwide ground stop September 6, 2023 [THE POINTS GUY]( [View in browser]( [TPG Daily Newsletter]( TOGETHER WITH [Partner Logo]( [THE POINTS GUY]( TOGETHER WITH [Partner Logo]( New Dulles Airport lounge by Emily Thompson, Credit Cards Writer [TPG | Hero Image] After much anticipation, the opening of the Capital One Lounge in Washington, D.C.'s Dulles International Airport (IAD) is finally here. Starting tomorrow, travelers going through Dulles can check out the new lounge for themselves. Last week, TPG got a sneak preview. Our expectations were high after the success of Capital One’s first lounge in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), which opened in 2021. Much like the DFW location, the Dulles Capital One Lounge highlights elements of local culture in its food and drink menus as well as the art throughout the space. Conveniently located just beyond the TSA PreCheck security area, the lounge features an impressive “grab and go” selection for travelers to pop in for a light bite, coffee or canned drink to take to their gate. Those who can stay awhile will enjoy the space’s varied seating options, including an area of lower seating and tables for kids as well as a spacious bar with specialty cocktails on tap. Also like the DFW location, the food options are varied and delightful, including items like shakshuka, breakfast sandwiches, chips with guacamole, and assorted pastries. Each is set out in single-serving containers, so visitors can enjoy several offerings without getting uncomfortably full.
