[THE POINTS GUY]( [View in browser]( [TPG Daily NEWSLETTER]( [THE POINTS GUY]( CAMPING REWARDS
by Katie Genter, Senior Writer
[TPG | Hero Image] Many of us think of hotels and resorts when we think of a vacation. But many Americans take camping vacations to spend time outdoors, save money and [travel easier with pets](. Whether youâre [RVing]( tent camping, backpacking or [glamping]( in a yurt, youâre likely driving to your destination. So, youâll want to use one of the [best cards for gas]( and look into [fuel rewards programs]( to maximize your gas purchases. You may come across some camping loyalty programs that you can use to save on camping reservations. Iâve gotten several free nights through the Georgia State Parks Rewards program. But if youâre looking for a nationwide program, the [KOA Rewards program]( might be a good fit. It can be difficult to know how campsite reservations will code with your credit card. But they often donât code as âtravel.â So, I usually use an [everyday spending card]( for my campsites and Walmart runs to ensure I earn more than 1 point or mile per dollar spent on these purchases.
