Also: Coronation travel logistics and after-parties [The Points Guy]( WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY Apr 28, 2023 DON'T GET BURNED BY SUMMER TRAVEL Good news: It’s Friday! Bad news: It’s about to be an expensive summer for travelers. A TPG-commissioned poll revealed that less than half of U.S. adults plan to travel this summer. Why, you ask? According to 40% of those staying home, price is the biggest issue. As my colleague Melanie Lieberman reported, one airline analytics group suggested that “flying to the top 10 summer travel destinations could cost you 54% more than it did in 2019 — and even 37% more than last year.” And though we might not see hotel rates hit a double-digit increase from last year, they’ll still be costly, with [hotel CEOs warning travelers not to hold out for deals](. Here’s more on why you should [brace yourself for an expensive summer travel season]( and [why summer airfares are so expensive]( (hint — demand is surging). Looking for a way to save on summer travel? Consider a vacation to a shiny new Embassy Suites resort, [like this one in Aruba]( which has easy beach access, room for the whole family and free breakfast. Or, if you're planning to head to Walt Disney World this summer, be sure to check out the new [Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area](. The resort is almost all-inclusive, offering free hot food twice a day, free snacks and soft drinks and even a whopping six free cocktails per room per evening. And that’s it for me on the newsletter for a while. I’m heading off on PTO for a concert megatrip starting with Taylor Swift in Atlanta and The Chicks in Las Vegas. [Tag along on Instagram](. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
