Also: You could own a giant cruise ship [The Points Guy]( WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY Dec 2, 2022 SPONSORED BY [TPG] HOLIDAYS ARE HERE AGAIN I love the holiday season. Not only because a constant influx of Christmas cookies is the only thing that can distract me from the bleak, gray skies outside my window, but also because I get to visit with friends I don't see often enough and make magical memories with my family. OK, and the cookies. This year, those magical memories started with a visit to [Gaylord Opryland Resort]( for a weekend of holiday merriment. After a pandemic pause, the hotel (along with other U.S. Gaylord locations) brought back its signature holiday event, Ice! This immersive walk-through experience with larger-than-life holiday scenes is made entirely from ice. The theme at Gaylord Opryland was "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and each scene told the story of how Rudolph came to be Santa's right-hand reindeer. There's even a (very cold) slide made from ice that I went down twice before declaring the 9-degree temperatures too cold to bear. Ice! is the coldest holiday activity at Gaylord, but it's far from the only festive offering. We spent the rest of the weekend snow tubing, making snowballs, checking out the Christmas trees and enjoying the view of the decorations from our atrium-view room. It was the perfect start to one of my favorite times of year, and I think a visit to Gaylord is well on its way to becoming a holiday tradition for my family.
