Also: A free year of Grubhub+ for Bank of America cardholders [The Points Guy]( WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY Aug 20, 2022 SCHEDULE CHANGES Happy Saturday! It’s the day of the week when we often see airlines revealing schedule changes, one of the most dreaded parts of the flying experience right now. While schedule changes have always been a part of flying, the sheer number of cuts and modifications that have taken place since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has proven to be yet another headache for travelers. Some have to do with certain destinations still not being fully open, such as parts of Asia, while others happen because airlines need to make real-time adjustments based on consumer demand, something that was more predictable pre-pandemic. The schedule-change turmoil is the topic of one of my [latest stories](. There’s even a surprise upside I write about in it. If you find yourself in a schedule-change situation — or have a flight delay — check out these resources: - [What to do when an airline changes your flight]( - [Your flight is canceled or delayed — here’s what you should do next]( - [What you can ask from an airline after a delayed or canceled flight]( Personally, I’ve been spared the worst since 2020, but I have had a few nonstop flights turn into connecting flights due to schedule changes. Of course, that’s a better outcome than having an airline leave your city altogether, [which has also been an issue recently](. By the way, I’m Ethan Klapper, the latest TPG writer to helm the daily newsletter. I’m a member of the aviation team and truly feel like I have one of the best jobs out there: I get paid to fly around and experience different flights. I’ve always been a big-time AvGeek and live in Houston with my girlfriend and two dogs — one of whom you’ll be hearing more about in a future newsletter. Photo by Ben Kilb/Bloomberg/Getty Images. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
