Also: Princess Cruises’ newest ship [The Points Guy]( WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY May 9, 2022 Why I carry both There are [a lot of credit cards out there]( some with great travel benefits, some with sky-high annual fees and plenty in between. For me, my two go-to cards are my [Chase Sapphire Preferred Card]( and my [American Express® Gold Card]( — OK, I opted for the rose gold. There are a few reasons why I love both of these cards, starting with their lower annual fees compared with their premium counterparts, the great bonus offers I received when I got these cards and the various [travel insurance protections they offer](. With my Amex Gold, I love that I earn 4 points per dollar spent on eating out — one of my favorite pastimes — and the $10 monthly Uber Cash credit I get for when I order in with Uber Eats (enrollment is required). With my Chase Sapphire Preferred, I'm a big fan of the 5 points that I earn for every dollar spent on flights booked through the Ultimate Rewards travel portal. But with both, my favorite part is that I’m able to transfer the points I earn to a large number of transfer partners without being confined to one airline or hotel brand. If you’re considering one of these cards, [we compared them in a head-to-head battle to help make the decision easier](. Or, hey, why not just be like me and get them both?
