Living in New York, I’ve seen firsthand how tourists are returning to popular destinations, but I was truly shocked by the number of people I saw out and about in Madrid, Barcelona and Rome. The major sites were chock-full of people. Bars and restaurants were crowded and busy, and lines to enter museums were long. To me, everything felt like it was mostly back to normal.
