Also, new Qatar Airways credit cards: Fast track to Oneworld elite status for $499 May 8, 2024 [THE POINTS GUY]( [View in browser]( [TPG Daily Newsletter]( TOGETHER WITH [Partner Logo]( [THE POINTS GUY]( TOGETHER WITH [Partner Logo]( Weekend trip for 2 to Mexico by Katie Genter, Senior Writer [TPG | Hero Image] Last week, award travelers were abuzz as the [Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card]( got its highest sign-up bonus in almost a year. The [Chase Sapphire Reserve®]( got its highest offer in over a year, too. For a limited time, both cards have a sign-up bonus of 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. To illustrate the power and versatility of these points, three TPG staffers — myself included — booked and took trips that could be done for 75,000 Chase points. Since I enjoy experiences more when I can share them, I actually crafted a trip where my husband and I could both get away to Mexico for a weekend using my allotment of 75,000 Chase points. You can [transfer Chase points]( to a variety of airline and hotel partners, but for my purposes, I went with Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards for our flights and World of Hyatt for our all-inclusive resort (pictured above). This meant our only expenses not covered by the 75,000-point budget were taxes and fees on our award flights, tips at the resort, and airport transportation. To learn about my trip — including whether a weekend escape to Mexico was worthwhile — check out the first story below.
