by Cameron Sperance, Senior Hotels Reporter
[TPG | Hero Image] Sometimes three is better than one. While this may sound excessive at first, stick with us as we look at âcredit card trifectasâ and why harnessing the power of three credit cards together can put you ahead in the game of earning points and miles. Sometimes, having multiple cards from an issuer is better than just having one because some cards have great perks, some have above-average everyday earning power, and some have really high bonus categories. For example, letâs look at what we call the [Chase Trifecta]( and how it can work for you. Letâs say you have the [Chase Sapphire Reserve®]( for its lounge access, annual travel credit, 3 points per dollar earned on travel and dining, and the ability to use points at 1.5 cents each in the Chase Travelâ portal. Thatâs great â but the card only earns 1 point per dollar on most everyday charges. However, the [Chase Freedom Unlimited®]( earns 50% more points on everyday charges â 1.5 points per dollar, to be exact. It has no annual fee, and the points earned from it can be [combined in the Ultimate Rewards account]( attached to your Sapphire Reserve. To cap off your trifecta, you might want to then look at the [Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card]( and its 100,000-point welcome bonus (after $8,000 in spending in the first three months) to unlock its 3-points-per-dollar bonus categories. Or, perhaps the no-annual-fee [Ink Business Cash® Credit Card]( which has bonus categories that earn 5 points per dollar that are not duplicated by the Sapphire Reserve.
