[See Full Article]() Indices Outlook 👀📈 Last week in the Indices Outlook, we talked about how the market had set up in a textbook “pullback” and true to form, the market mostly pushed up throughout the week. The S&P 500 briefly popped above 4,800 and set a new 52 week high, but stalled and couldn’t close above the previous highs it hit at the end of December. The Nasdaq lagged a bit and stalled around the 15,000 level. The tech heavy index didn’t get to the highs we saw at the end of December (15,150) and there wasn’t a ton of volume supporting the push higher. This week we will be watching to see if the bulls can push the market to new highs with some energy and volume behind the move. This would be a great sign that the bullish trend is staying in full force. The flip side is if the buying push stalls at these resistance levels, then we may be set for the markets to take more of a breather as it looks to digest the next wave of earnings coming up. [Watch Now]( Pirate's 2024 Best Recipes 👨‍🍳 Traders, let's blend strategy and sustenance. Discover a seasonal recipe designed to fuel your trading days. Because let's be real, the market's wild, but your dinner doesn't have to be! Pirate's "Make You Feel Smarter" Eggs🍳 It’s time you turned pro on the egg front! *Important* First, please read through entirely! I think you’ll need to do a test run before doing this dish for others. You just gotta feel the heat, the cook time, and how you like your eggs for the finished product. When these training wheels come off you’re gonna be unstoppable! With that said, let’s proceed: What you’ll need: - Shop for organic, pasture raised (or free range) eggs *Note, for some reason I’ve always been a white egg guy, but these eggs will be brown. Also, pasture raised eggs will be the most expensive ones in the store. Truth is, ANY egg will be enhanced by the following method I’m about to explain (but why not go ALL IN and get the best eggs for this best method?!) -You’ll need a quality non stick-pan/skillet with a glass lid. This is a must. Other ingredients: Besides the eggs (which are the star of this show), you’ll need 1 peeled garlic clove, butter, olive oil, kosher salt, and fresh cracked black pepper. Others to experiment with are: Herbs D Provence, rosemary, dried parsley, thyme, or Italian seasoning (but not all together!) Directions: It’s best to do 3-4 eggs at a time. Place uncracked eggs in warm water in a medium sized bowl. Let them sit there for 7-10 minutes. Don’t hurry this! Just relax and for once let’s get our eggs to room temperature before doing anything else! (you can do this while making coffee for example) Take the eggs out of the bowl, dump out the water (dry out the bowl). Then crack each egg and carefully add each one back to the bowl. Do not break the yolks. You now have 3-4 broken eggs, yolks intact, all hanging out together in a warmed bowl, at room temperature. (I feel smarter already!) Next, heat up your skillet. The temp should be a little north of medium heat, but not medium high heat (and defs NOT at high heat!). Peel a single garlic clove, smash it, and add it to 1 Tbs butter and a little olive oil and roll around in pan to coat. (don’t let me catch you using margarine!) When it gets bubbly and you can feel some heat on the pan, remove the smashed garlic piece (or pieces) and discard. You now have a buttery oiled pan with a hint of garlic in it. Next, carefully spill out the eggs into the pan. Let them sit there. Don’t touch them with your spatula! When you start to see/hear them cook, gently shake the pan and watch them move around on top of the non-stick surface. This is when you know you have it right. (when the eggs go in, the sizzle sound shouldn’t be too loud or crazy) Add salt and pepper here. And anything else fun… but not too much! A rosemary sprig? Some Herbs D’ Proveance, maybe a little dried parsley? (Experimenting here is fun, but remember, the eggs are the stars of the show) Then right after you add your seasonings, add approx 1/3 cup of water to the skillet, yes I said that right! Add it right to the eggs! Then put the glass lid on top! With the lid now on, turn down the heat by half. Do not remove the lid! After about 30-45 more seconds, remove the skillet entirely from the heat source, gently shake the pan. Keep lid on! The eggs will remain cooking and steaming at this point. You can watch through the glass lid! At this point, if you like the yolks cooked through, you’ll wait 2-3 minutes with the cover on, no lifting the lid! If you like them on the runny side, maybe a minute or a minute 30 is all. (the process I’m describing here is one of the main reasons for doing a trial run before you do this for real!) To Serve: When ready to serve, have a plate with a couple paper towel squares on it. With a spatula, gently divide each egg apart (with enough egg white surrounding each yolk) and place it on the paper toweled plate. This will drain each egg (as there will still be some water in the pan, and hence on each egg). After a few seconds of drain time, you’re now ready to transfer the eggs to each serving plate. But whatever the outcome, I’ll throw down right here/right now these eggs will be the most delicious ones you’ll ever put in your mouth! I normally feel SMARTER and more ready to take on the day when I make eggs like this in the morning, not gonna lie. Some additional thoughts: 1) I’ve never tried this with more than 6 eggs at a time. I’ve done 5-6 max, but usually 3-4. Perhaps if your skillet was big enough, you could do a dozen? I don’t know! So if you’re feeding a dozen people, I’d do 2 batches of 6 eggs each. 2) There’s no flipping the eggs over during this! The steam from the water will cook them through. And remember, no picking up and down the lid! 3) I’ve taken several pics of the finished result over the years, but damned if I can find them on my phone?! Oh well, this will make you all the more curious as to how they’ll look when they’re done! Most of all, Enjoy! I hope you enjoyed this week's edition of "The Fogcutter". You can expect this in your inbox every Monday. Have a great week! - Preston [Unsubscribe]( Traders Edge Network 8180 South 700 East Suite 210 Sandy, Utah 84070 United States (801) 733-4190
