Here’s what we got on deck for you today: 💣 US Stocks Surge as Hopes for Major Fed Rate Cut Rise ⬆️ 💣 Boeing Workers Strike After Rejecting New Labor Contract 🛩 💣 Video: How to Lock in Gains: Top Techniques for Profitable Trades 🤑 Markets At A Glance🔎 As of September 16, 2024, 10:50 AM MST Treasure Hunting Climate 📈 All eyes will be on the Federal Reserve this week as they announce any rate decisions on Wednesday. The markets are expecting at least a 25 basis point cut, but some are being hopeful on a "less likely" 50 basis point cut. This would be the first interest rate cut since early 2020. The timing of this meeting is following a strong week for the broad markets. The Nasdaq had its best week of the year, popping up about 6%. The S&P 500 also had a great week gaining 4%. We are watching the S&P 500 as it nears its August and July all-time highs where it could face some potential resistance. The market continues to build more of a bullish case for itself, but we are still expecting some volatility these next couple of weeks. Some are thinking Wednesday's rate decision could lead to a "sell the news" type of move, but time will obviously tell. We also will see some fresh data on retail sales on Tuesday that will give some insights on the strength of consumer spending. Earnings from Fedex on Thursday (after the close) will also give some insights on the state of the economy and spending. All to say, it should be quite the entertaining week! See you next week!
