Hey Friend, You may have heard about the US and China being locked in an escalating trade battle? US President Donald Trump complained about China's trading practices since before he took office in 2016, and has since launched an investigation into Chinese trade politics. His investigation imposed tariffs on billions of dollar’s worth of Chinese products during 2018, taking tariffs from $53bn to $200bn … and is now attempting to negotiate an additional $267bn (taking the total to $506bn). Beijing retaliated and accused the US of starting “the largest trade war in economic history”. But after months of hostilities, a breakthrough of sorts came in December, with both countries agreeing to halt a new trade tariff for 90 days to allow for talks. They imposed a deadline of early March to resolve their differences, or the battle may heat up again. But with this deadline quickly approaching, and with widespread scepticism that the two sides can reach a substantive deal by the deadline, it’s going to send shock-waves through companies, countries and currencies throughout the world. It’s just one of many current events that suggest that a global recession is imminent. But as many panic; attempt save money, invest in the wrong places and start to play on the defence, the smart ones like us, see the huge potential of winning during these chaotic times. I’ve said this before, but my biggest winning periods have been during recessions – markets spike and crash, making room for big WINS and if you’ve traded through a few recessions like myself, the patterns are incredibly predictable.
