As President Biden urged Democrats and Republicans to work together to “finish the job” on repairing America’s fragile Democracy, in his hopeful address, he was (unsurprisingly) met with a series of boos and heckles from members of the Republican party. Was the Republican party’s attitude expected? Yes. But as it warranted? Of course not. In fact, Biden’s first words about Republicans were praise and not criticism.
