I do on my PC. Alt+Tab and the taskbar are both great, but things can get chaotic and messy when you have a lot of windows open. So why not organize them? Modern versions of Windows have a convenient built-in way to group those windows into different workspaces. This is particularly useful if you perform both work tasks and personal tasks on the same Windows PC, like I do. You can keep all those windows in the right place. Now let's organize those open windows and cut down on the clutter. ⌚ This entire email will take you two minutes to read. Remember: If you'd rather not receive these Monday tip roundups, [you can easily opt out of them](=) without affecting the rest of your subscription. ✅ [Got it — don't show this again](=) #top This week's reader suggestion ⭐ With Windows 10, Windows gained a long-awaited feature for working with lots of Windows — something competing operating systems like desktop Linux and macOS beat Windows to. I remember downloading a special "Virtual Desktop Manager" tool from Microsoft's website to get this feature back in the Windows XP days. Are you using this feature now that it's built in? And if you are: Are you using it to its full potential? 💻 This works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. ➜ Windows Intelligence reader Stefan T. recently reminded me about how useful virtual desktops are. They let you organize all your open windows into workspaces to reduce clutter. For example, you might have one desktop for work-related windows and another desktop for personal stuff. To find them, just press Windows+Tab or click that "Task View" icon that appears near your PC's Start button on the taskbar — unless you've disabled it in your taskbar settings. [Click the Task View button on Windows 11's taskbar.] Here are some pointers: - On Windows 11, use the virtual desktops bar at the bottom of the screen to see your virtual desktops, switch to them, open new ones, an close them. On Windows 10, the virtual desktops are at the top of your screen instead. - Drag a window from the Task View interface to one of the virtual desktop thumbnails to move it between desktops. - Right-click one of the window thumbnails in Task View to find more options. For example, you can tell Windows to show a particular window on all your virtual desktops. - Right-click one of the virtual desktop thumbnails to rename it or choose a different background for it. - Press Windows+Ctrl+Left Arrow and Windows+Ctrl+Right Arrow to quickly move between your virtual desktops. [Task View showing virtual desktops on Windows 11.] Feel free to play with this feature and see how it helps your workflow! If you have a lot of windows open, this is a great way to organize them. 🤖 Looking for this week's Android Intelligence reader tip?
