Each virtual desktop has its own set of open windows. But they can be a little clunky to use. Normally, you have to press Windows+Tab or click the "Task View" button on the taskbar and use the virtual desktop thumbnails to switch between them. ð» This works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. â Windows Intelligence reader Darren S. wrote in with a useful tip â a keyboard shortcut that helped him unlock the power of virtual desktops and made them "click" for his workflow. To switch between virtual desktops, just press Windows+Ctrl+Left arrow or Windows+Ctrl+Right arrow. (If this doesn't do anything, press Windows+Tab and use the virtual desktop bar to create a new virtual desktop or two.) ð Here's a bonus tip: On most modern Windows laptops with a touchpad, you can place five fingers on the touchpad and swipe to the left or right to switch between virtual desktops. [The virtual desktops bar at the bottom of the Task View interface on Windows 11.] You can open windows on a new virtual desktop â but you can also move existing windows to a different virtual desktop from the Task View interface. Just use drag and drop. With the keyboard shortcuts, you can switch between [virtual desktops]() extremely quickly â no slow mousing around! It's what finally made this feature click for Darren's workflow, and it may be just the trick for yours. ðºï¸ Looking for this week's Android Intelligence reader tip?
