Folks, California is at it again! Just when you thought the state couldn't get any more out of touch with reality, lawmakers have decided that the best use of their time-and your money-is to let illegal immigrants apply for the "California Dream for All" first-time homebuyers' financial assistance program. That's right-AB 1840 is moving full steam ahead, and it's as ludicrous as it sounds. Let's break this down. The program is supposed to help first-time homebuyers with up to 20% of a home's value or $150,000 for a down payment. But here's the kicker: the program already ran out of money just 11 days after it started in June! Yet, instead of focusing on how actually to fund this program for legal residents, California's brilliant lawmakers are now looking to extend it to people who aren't even in the country legally. During the floor debate, Democrats pushed this bill through with the usual talking points-saying undocumented immigrants who apply must pay taxes and show proof of work. But let's be real here. What about the countless Californians who are also struggling to afford their first home? What about veterans who've served this country and could also use some help? Apparently, they're supposed to take a back seat in the Golden State's quest to be the most "inclusive" state in the union, even if it means putting legal residents at a disadvantage. The real kicker? The California Dream for All program is broke. It's got zero dollars left. Zilch. Yet, these lawmakers are charging forward as if there's some magic money tree out there that's going to shower them with funds to keep this dream alive. The bill's heading back to the Assembly, and if it passes, it'll land on Governor Gavin Newsom's desk. Anyone want to guess what he'll do? Spoiler alert: He'll probably sign it with a big grin, proclaiming how California is leading the way in "progressive" policies. JUST IN: California lawmakers approve AB 1840 which allows for illegal immigrants to receive up to $150,000 for down payments on homes. The program is called the "California Dream for All" loan program, which will provide up to 20% down payment assistance up to $150,000. The... So, where exactly is this money going to come from? That's right, taxpayers, get ready to dig a little deeper because California's lawmakers are too busy chasing their woke agenda to care about fiscal responsibility. BREAKING: The California State Senate just voted overwhelmingly to pass AB 1840, which allows illegal aliens to apply for taxpayer funded down payments on homes up to $150,000. An unbelievable betrayal of the citizens of their state. But the truth is, this isn't about helping people buy homes-it's about virtue signaling at its finest. And who's paying the price? The hardworking, law-abiding citizens of California. Buckle up, folks; it's going to be a bumpy ride as California continues its march toward fiscal insanity. BREAKING: California State Senate passes free 20% downpayment on a home for illegal aliens bill (AB 1840). Admittedly, they have no real way of funding this. You just can't make this up.
