Rush Limbaugh, the bombastic, right-wing conspiracy mongering talk show host, revealed today (Feb. 3) he has potentially fatal lung cancer. Here are 25 of his scurrilous comments that could serve as his epitaph.
Try this one for starters.
âI would like a medal for smoking cigars, is what Iâm saying,â [he once said](, denying that first or second hand smoke can lead to cancer.
(See the others below.)
Limbaugh, 69, whose broadcasting career spans more than three decades, has become a sounding board for right-wing conspiracy theories and an unabashed supporter of President Donald Trump and his more grandiose fabrications.

In 2012, Limbaugh [infamously claimed]( that the movie âDark Knight Risesâ was a left wing conspiracy to undermine the candidacy of presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
In 2014, Limbaugh drew a connection between the murders at the University of California Santa Barbara and the movie âHunger Games.â
âDo you know what the Hunger Games movies are about?â Limbaugh bellowed. “Itâs teenagers killing other teenagers.”

Limbaugh also blamed the left for “politicizing” the murders, an apparent reference to calls for stricter gun control by the parents of the victims
Limbaugh also thew his hefty media weight behind embattled Ariz. Gov. Jan Brewer with a bizarre argument about a state anti-gay bill that stands the notion of âbullyingâ on its head.

But that’s not all. He’s also attacked women, feminism, migrants, climate change, health care activists, First Lady Michelle Obama, African-Americans and American Indians among others.
Not surprisingly, some took his announcement as an opportunity to return the karma.
âLadies and gentleman, this day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory for me because Iâve known this moment was coming in the program today,â Limbaugh began.
[Rush Limbaugh Digs In on National TV at Super Bowl](
“So I have to tell you something today that I wish I didnât have to tell you,â he continued. “I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.”
He said he was taking a few days off for tests and treatment options but would return by Thursday (Feb. 26).
The five-year survival rate for stage 4 lung cancer is 4.7 percent, which suggest Limbaugh is facing a terminal disease. But advances in lung cancer treatment could improve his chances of living longer.
Roughly 40 percent of people with lung cancer are diagnosed at stage 4, which means that the cancer has metastasized throughout the body to the brain, bones, or liver, according to medical references.
In 2003, The National Enquirer reported that Limbaugh was under investigation for illegally obtaining the prescription drugs oxycodone and hydrocodone. He admitted to listeners on his radio show on Oct 10, 2003, that he was addicted to prescription painkillers.
Given all of the invective he’s spewed over the years, it seems only fitting that his own words should serve as his epitaph. Here are 25 of his choicest statements. May he rest in peace.

Justin Bieber had a lot to escape from when he shot to fame as a young teen and had to deal with all the pressures of fame. He reveals in a new interview drugs provided part of that escape.
The 25-year-old singer revealed he first tried marijuana when he was just 13, after rocketing to fame as one of the first YouTube phenoms.
He says weed led him to experiment with other drugs, including a potentially deadly concoction known as âsizzurpâ or âpurple drank.â The drink is a mix of cough syrup containing promethazine and codeine, mixed with a soft drink.

Codeine, derived from opium, is metabolized into morphine in the body and is highly addictive.
“Users quickly develop a physical and psychological dependence to the drug and may experience withdrawal symptoms after as few as five to seven days of continuous use,” [The New York Independent]( reported in 2014, citing addiction Web site, [codeineaddiction.com](
During a period in 2014 when Bieber often appeared agitated and aggressive he was suspected of using sizzurp. He denied at the time.

From there, he moved on to pills, Molly, and even trying Shrooms, also known as psilocybin and psilocin.
“It was just an escape for me. I was young. My experience was in front of cameras and I had a different level of exposure,” he said in an episode of his YouTube Premium documentary “Justin Bieber: Seasons.”
Bieber went through a period in his late teens and early behavior when he was known more for loutish behavior than his music.

He described it as “valuing the wrong things,” because they were being âdangledâ in front of him.
âThe truth is, I never had the tools. My parents never gave me those tools to be a good team player,â he says.
Instead he learned the hard way.
In 2014, he was arrested on assault and dangerous driving charges in Canada and got into an altercation with actor Orlando Bloom in Ibiza, Spain, after bragging he’d bedded Australian model Amanda Kerr.

Bieber was in hot water with police in California, Florida as well as Toronto, causing a White House petition calling for his deportation to soar to more than a quarter million names.
At one point, he became fodder for late-night comics. David Letterman called him a “one-man crime wave.”
In 2015, an Argentine judge ordered the pop starâs arrest Friday (Apr. 10) for failing to appear before authorities to answer questions about an alleged assault.
The same year, Bieber appeared on Ellen and vowed to go straight. He followed up with a humbling apology on Facebook and said he was ânot the person he was pretending to be.â
He reassured fans in an Instagram post in 2017 that he was a changed person from two years earlier, when he was arrested in Miami for driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest.
The “Believe” singer says in his documentary he decided to get sober because his addictions had grown serious.
“I was, like, dying. People donât know how serious it got It was legit, crazy scary,” he said.
“I basically said to myself, âGod, if you are real, you get me through this season of stopping these pills and stuff, and if you do, Iâll do the rest of the work.â I never did the actual work. I got off the pills but never went to the root of everything so I just circled back around which most people do.”
Justinâs new wife Hailey Bieber, 23, also appears in the documentary, and blamed the singer’s problems on “crippling anxiety.”
“I think when you take somebody very, very young and they get horrible, crazy crippling anxiety and it goes undiagnosed and you donât know what it is you are feeling, you start to self-medicate because it makes you feel better. Just helping not to feel anything.â
Now, the âLove Yourselfâ singer has an oxygen chamber in his house to help with his anxiety, and goes through nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) IV treatment to help flush toxins out of his body.
âFor people who used to have a drug problem, when they get sober, the pleasure centers of their brain don’t work the same. So what NAD does is actually helps to repair that part of that brain and it helps repair the pleasure centres to balance them back out.â
