India-U.S. 2+2 dialogue on Friday U.S. Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin arrived in the national capital on Thursday and he was welcomed at the airport by his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh, reflecting the importance India has attached to the trip. Austin is paying a two-day visit to New Delhi to attend the India-US ‘2+2’ foreign and defence ministerial dialogue on Friday. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will also be part of the American delegation at the talks. The Indian side will be led by Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Delhi government ready to bear cost of artificial rain to combat pollution The Delhi government has decided to bear the entire cost of artificial rain for combating hazardous air pollution in the city and directed the chief secretary to present the government’s views before the Supreme Court on Friday, officials said. If the Centre supports the decision, the Delhi government can arrange for first artificial rain in the city by November 20, they said on Thursday. Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar to campaign in Telangana on Friday Siddaramaiah will address a public meeting in Kamareddy, where the Congress has fielded its State President A.
