1. Nadda to visit poll-bound Nagaland today BJP president JP Nadda will visit poll-bound Nagaland on Tuesday, party sources said. Nadda will attend a joint rally of the BJP and its ally NDPP. He is also scheduled to release the BJP’s manifesto for the assembly election at the party’s state unit headquarters. BJP and NDPP are contesting the elections together. While the BJP is fighting the polls on 20 seats, NDPP is contesting 40 seats. 2. Aero India 2023 day 2 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday showcased India as an attractive destination for investment in the defence manufacturing sector, and said it will move towards becoming one of the leading exporters of military hardware globally. Mr. Modi made the comments in his address after inaugurating the 14th edition of Aero India at the Yalahanka Air Force station complex on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The five-day exhibition is being participated by over 700 defence companies and delegates from 98 countries, officials said. 3. Iranian President Raisi to visit China to shore up ties Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will meet with his counterpart Xi Jinping during his three-day trip in China starting Tuesday, as the two U.S. rivals seek further cooperation. China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying made the announcement on Sunday, saying Raisi’s visit was at Xi’s invitation. Raisi will meet with Xi and their delegations will sign cooperation documents, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA. 4. Tight security in Coimbatore on account of serial blasts anniversary Tight security cover is in place in and around the city for two days from Monday in view of the serial blasts anniversary, police said. The blasts which claimed more than 50 lives took place on February 14, 1998, they said. As many as 2,500 police personnel are deployed in the city and over 500 on the outskirts to prevent any eventualities, as many organisations have decided to observe the anniversary. 5. Health melas to be organised at Ayushman Bharat wellness centres on 14th of every month Health Melas will be organised on the 14th of every month at 1.56 lakh Ayushman Bharat - Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) across the country as part of the ongoing ‘Swastha Mann, Swastha Ghar’ campaign, a Union health ministry statement said on Monday. The ‘Swastha Mann, Swastha Ghar’ campaign was launched last year to enhance awareness on healthy living. Yoga and Zumba sessions, teleconsultation, ‘Nikshay Poshan Abhiyan’, non-communicable diseases’ screening, distribution of medicines and sickle cell disease screening will be organised as part of these countrywide health melas. 6. Foreign Secretary Kwatra discusses bilateral ties with Nepal President Bhandari, PM ‘Prachanda’ Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Monday called on Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and held productive discussions on ways to improve bilateral ties. Mr. Kwatra, who arrived in Nepal on a two-day official visit, called on Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Sheetal Niwas here and conveyed greetings on behalf of her Indian counterpart Droupadi Murmu. 7. Flights grounded, power cut as storm lashes New Zealand Tens of thousands of homes in New Zealand were without power on Monday and hundreds of flights have been cancelled as a tropical storm lashes the north of the country. A state of emergency has been declared in five separate regions in the North Island, covering almost one-third of New Zealand’s entire population of 5.1 million. 8.
