1. Delhi HC hearing on Agnipath Scheme continues The Delhi High Court on Monday remarked that the Centre’s Agnipath scheme for recruitment in the armed forces was devised by the experts from the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. A Bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad made the remarks as it questioned whether courts should interfere in such matters. The hearing will continue today. 2. ISRO espionage case | Kerala HC to hold special sitting The Kerala High Court will hold a special sitting on December 15 to consider the anticipatory bail pleas of former police officials who were grilled by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the ISRO frame-up case. 3. Jaishankar will hold briefing on Global Counter Terrorism Approach As External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar prepares to chair a UN Security Council meeting on terrorism on Thursday, Pakistan said it is distributing a new “dossier” on terrorism to UNSC members that alleges Indian agencies were involved in “masterminding” a 2021 blast near Hafiz Saeed’s home in Lahore. 4. SC to hear CBI plea on Nirav Modi Supreme Court is all set to hear today the plea of CBI challenging the August 23 order of the Bombay High Court by which Mainak Mehta, brother in-law of fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, who is an accused in the PNB fraud case, was allowed to travel to Hong Kong and stay there for three months. 5. Delhi Airport overcrowding | DIAL CEO likely to appear before parliamentary panel A Parliamentary panel will take up the issue of congestion at Delhi airport with the CEO of airport operator DIAL on December 15 amid passengers facing long waiting hours, according to the committee’s Chairman Vijayasai Reddy. The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture will be holding the meeting with Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, the CEO of the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). 6. IMD predicts depression over East-central, adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a depression over East-central and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea which is likely to intensify further into a deep depression by Thursday morning. Meanwhile, the fishermen have been advised not to venture into Lakshadweep Area till today morning. 7. Govt to sell up to 5 % stake in IRCTC The government will sell up to 5% stake in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) through an offer for sale (OFS) on the exchanges on Thursday and Friday. Up to 4,00,00,000 shares will be offered in the OFS, and the floor price for the same has been fixed at Rs 680 a share.
