The partyâs vote share also jumped to 52.5%. 2. Congress yet to announce CM candidate for Himachal Pradesh The Congress made a comeback in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, by winning 40 seats in the high-stakes electoral contest for the 68-member Legislative Assembly, edging out the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), which had appeared confident of returning to power. The party is yet to announce a CM candidate in the State. 3. AAP set to become national party Ten years after it was formed, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to get the status of a national party after securing nearly 13% of the vote share and five seats in the Gujarat Assembly election. Thanking the people of Gujarat for helping the party achieve the status, party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, âWe have managed to breach the fortress this time, next time we will conquer it.â 4. Cyclone Mandous in Tamil Nadu | Holiday declared for schools and colleges Cyclone Mandous lay centered over Southwest Bay of Bengal, about 240 km north-northeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), 240 km east-southeast of Karaikal and about 320 km south-southeast of Chennai, according to IMD as of 7 am today. A holiday has been declared on December 9 for schools and colleges in Chennai, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Ranipet, Vellore, Villupuram, Thiruvarur, Perambalur, Kallakurichi, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Ariyalur, Dharmapuri, Nagappattinam Tiruchirappalli, Salem and Namakkal districts in view of the heavy rain alert. 5.
