MCD polls today: 1.45 crore electors eligible to vote; high-stakes contest between AAP and BJP The high stakes Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) poll will be held on Sunday, with the Aam Aadmi Party looking to wrest power from the BJP, while the saffron party is eying its fourth consecutive time at the civic body. The Congress, which has suffered back-to-back drubbing in the national capital since 2015 in parliamentary, assembly and municipal corporations polls, will try to redeem itself with a notable performance this time. 2. Congress steering panel meet today to decide on plenary session date, venue The first meeting of the Congress steering committee constituted by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge will be held on Sunday to decide the schedule and venue for its plenary session. The Congress steering committee was formed in place of the working committee, the highest decision-making body of the party, after Kharge took charge as the new chief last month. 3. President Droupadi Murmu on two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh from today President Droupadi Murmu will visit Andhra Pradesh from December 4 to 5, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement on Saturday. The President will attend a civic reception hosted in her honour by the Andhra Pradesh government at Vijayawada on Sunday, it said. On the same evening, she will witness the Indian Navy’s operational demonstration at Visakhapatnam on the occasion of Navy Day and virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects of ministries of Defence, Road Transport and Highways, and Tribal Affairs. 4. Bharat Jodo Yatra to enter Rajasthan on Sunday The yatra will enter Jhalawar from Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot may have put up a united front before AICC general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal, but their supporters are reportedly showing one-upmanship on the ground ahead of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. 5.
