Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra to enter Raichur district today Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will resume Bharat Jodo Yatra from Chatnalli village in Andhra Pradesh, and will enter Karnataka near Gillesuguru Raichur district border via Tungabhadra Bridge on Friday morning. As per the itinerary, he will pass through the Raichur Rural and City Assembly constituencies and interact with farmers at Gillesuguru and stay at overnight Yaragera village. 2. SC to hear on Friday plea against preventive detention of Kerala law student The Supreme court has agreed to hear the plea of a mother whose son, a law student had been detained under the Kerala law on prevention of anti-social activities said a bench comprising of Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justice Bela M Trivedi on Thursday. As per the mother, her son has been under preventive detention for more than 110 days. 3. PM Modi to visit Kedarnath-Badrinath Friday Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttarakhand on Friday during which he will perform ‘puja’ at Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, as well as lay the foundation stone of connectivity projects worth more than ₹3,400 crores. He will visit the Adi Guru Shankaracharya Samadhi Sthal and also review the progress of development works along Mandakini Asthapath and Saraswati Asthapath. 4. IBA meeting on Friday to elect its new chairman The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA), will meet on Friday to elect its new chairman. The body consists of all the banks including foreign lenders with branches in India. As per norms, the senior-most managing director of a public sector bank is elected as chairman for a period of one year. Currently, Punjab National Bank (PNB) Managing Director A K Goel is the chairman of the lobby group. 5. Special court likely to pass order on Anil Deshmukh’s bail plea in corruption case on Friday The bail application of NCP leader and former state home minister Anil Deshmukh will be heard by a special court on Friday in connection with the money-laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. The corruption case was filed by the CBI, alleging that bribes were collected from bar owners by dismissed policeman Sachin Waze on Mr. Dehsmukh’s orders. 6. Reliance Jio expected to come out with its Q2 report card on Friday On Friday, Reliance Industries will announce its quarterly financial results for July to September. Reliance’s telecom unit is also likely to register revenue growth on the back of a strong subscriber base addition.
