SC starts hearing arguments on dissolution of marriage by exercising omnibus power under Article 142 The Supreme Court commenced hearing arguments to decide broad parameters for exercising its vast powers under Article 142 of the Constitution to dissolve marriages between consenting couples without referring them to family courts. Rajnath Singh visits forward areas in Arunachal Mr. Singh will visit forward posts on Thursday for first hand input on operational preparedness and interact with the troops there. 5. BJP won't attend Punjab Assembly session on Thursday The BJP on Wednesday slammed the Punjab government for bringing a confidence motion in the state Assembly and said its MLAs won't be attending the House Thursday as the ruling outfit "betrayed" the Governor and running away from discussion on burning issues. 6. Biden looks to win over Pacific Island leaders at summit US Secretary of State Antony Blinken planned to kick off the summit with a luncheon for the Pacific Island leaders and other senior officials from the region. U.S. climate envoy John Kerry will hold a climate roundtable with the leaders, and White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan will join them for a dinner hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Biden is set to address the leaders at the State Department on Thursday and will host them for a dinner at the White House.
