NTA constitutes fact-finding panel to look into Kollam NEET incident An incident in Kollam, where students attending National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), were asked to remove innerwear, has evoked much public outrage and strong condemnation from from all quarters. Kottarakara police have initiated a probe into the incident after one of the students filed a complaint on Monday. 3. Rishi Sunak tops new vote to edge closer to final spot in UK PM race Rishi Sunak topped another round of voting on Tuesday to edge even closer to his place as one of two candidates who will go head-to-head to be elected the new Conservative Party leader and British Prime Minister, as Kemi Badenoch became the latest candidate to be out of the running. The final two candidates will be known after a fifth round of voting on Wednesday, at the end of which the race will be taken over by the Conservative Party headquarters to organise hustings in different parts of the UK. 4. Chhattisgarh Assembly monsoon session from Wednesday; BJP to bring no-trust motion The opposition BJP will bring a no-confidence motion against the Congress government in Chhattisgarh and also raise multiple issues, including those related to farmers and tribals, corruption and the âdeterioratingâ law and order situation during the monsoon session of the Assembly beginning from Wednesday. 7. Maharashtra: Gates of Bhatsa dam to be opened; alert issued for nearby villages The administration in Maharashtraâs Thane district issued an alert for villages along Bhatsa river in Shahapur and Murbad talukas, as gates of the dam, which has reached its full capacity, will be opened on Wednesday. The five gates of Bhatsa dam will be opened around 11 am and 6215.44 cusecs of water will be released from the reservoir, an official from the district administration said. 8. ED arrests Jharkhand CM Hemant Sorenâs political aide in money-laundering case The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Pankaj Mishra, a political aide of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, on Tuesday in connection with a money-laundering probe linked to alleged illegal mining in the state, officials said. Mishra is expected to be produced before a Ranchi court on Wednesday, where the ED will seek his custody. 9. SC to hear on Wednesday AAPâs plea challenging postponement of MCD polls The Supreme Court agreed to hear on Wednesday the plea of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) challenging the postponement of the Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD) polls on the ground of delimitation of wards in the national capital. 10.
