A crucial meeting of DDMA today is likely to discuss mandatory use of face masks and hybrid mode of offline and online teaching for school children, in view of rising number of infections in past many days, official sources said. The meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) chaired by Lt Governor Anil Baijal, will review the COVID situation in the national capital, as per notice of the meeting. 6. Bengal sets out to drum up investments through marquee summit amid Covid-induced slowdown As the country limps back from a Covid-induced economic slowdown, West Bengal, whose industrial glory started fading out in the 1970s, is trying to drum up investments by holding its big-ticket Bengal Global Business Summit after a hiatus of two years, from Wednesday. Although no one is quite sure of the big industrialists from abroad who may be coming to Kolkata’s two day-day summit, a largish British contingent consisting mostly of Indian representatives of UK firms besides a Russian delegation, as well Indian business tycoons and CEOs such as Adani group chief Gautam Adani, ITC chief Sanjiv Puri, Tata Steel’s T V Narendran, Bajaj Auto’s Sanjiv Bajaj, Kirloskar group’s Vikram Kirloskar and Sunitha Reddy of Apollo Hospital, are slated to make an appearance. 7. Delhi Capitals’ game against Punjab Kings shifted to Mumbai from Pune due to virus outbreak The upcoming IPL match between COVID-hit Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings was on Tuesday shifted to Mumbai from Pune following a virus outbreak in the Risabh Pant-led team. In a statement, the BCCI said it has moved Wednesday’s game to Brabourne stadium to ensure no COVID infection goes undetected in the bio-bubble. Five members of Delhi Capitals, including Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh have tested positive for the virus. 8.
