The Missionaries of Charity, a Catholic religious congregation set up Nobel laureate Mother Teresa, on Monday said their FCRA â Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act renewal application has not been approved and that they have asked their centres not to operate these bank accounts âWe have been informed that our FCRA renewal application has not been approved. Therefore, as a measure to ensure there is no lapse, we have asked our centres not to operate any of the FC (foreign contribution) accounts until matter is resolved,â a statement from Sister M. Prema, Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity, said. The statement clarified that âFCRA registration of Missionaries of Charity has neither been suspended nor cancelled. Further there is no freeze ordered by the Ministry of Home Affairs [MHA] on any of our bank accountsâ. Earlier in the day, reports that bank accounts of Missionaries of Charity have been frozen by the Centre had triggered concerns among social and political circles. Covaxin only vaccine option for children in 15-18 years age group, says government The vaccine option against COVID-19 for children in the age group of 15-18 years, who will be inoculated from January 3, would be Covaxin only, according to new guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry on Monday. The prioritisation and sequencing of the âprecaution doseâ (third dose) for healthcare workers (HCWs), frontline workers (FLWs) and citizens above 60 years of age with comorbidities, would be based on completion of nine months from the date of administration of second dose, which is 39 weeks, the guidelines, which will come into effect from January 3, stated. HCWs, FLWs and citizens aged 60 years or above with comorbidities will be able to access vaccination for the precaution dose through their existing Co-WIN account. Eligibility for the precaution dose will be based on the date of administration of the second dose as recorded in the Co-WIN system, which will send an SMS for availing the precaution dose when it becomes due, the ministry informed. Registration and appointment services can be accessed through online and onsite modes, and details of administration of the precaution dose will reflect in vaccination certificates, according to the guidelines. Among the topics discussed was the highly-transmissible Omicron variant that has been detected in several States so far, an ECI official said. The Commission would travel to U.P. on Tuesday for a three-day visit to assess the situation and meet representatives of political parties and administration.
